Scoots 3rd Gear May 20, 2008 Share May 20, 2008 you have the OS CD? it should be bootable and if you have boot from CD available, just leave your CD in the CD-drive and re-start your PC. The instructions that follow should be clear enough
Karebu 1st Gear May 20, 2008 Share May 20, 2008 (edited) you may want to dig out your motherboard chipset, graphics card, sound card driver cds and put them at the side as you format. not compulsory though as it makes things easier. you can always find the software through google and download them for free. enter setup (press delete by default when you first power up and choose boot priority as CD first. just put your XP/vista disc in the tray and restart. you'll come to a point where it says, 'Press any key to boot from cd..' you wait for it to load up and once you're inside, it's pretty self-explanatory. I vaguely recall you having the internet problem (it's been quite long already and you've posted a thread earlier on?) (hmm you've disabled PMs) Edited May 20, 2008 by Karebu

Tunge 1st Gear May 20, 2008 Share May 20, 2008 reformating is a big project yeah... do back up ALL the files u want to keep before u reformat ur HDD, cos u lose everything, unless of course u have different partitions and u r only reformating the main drive (usually C:). do u have a windows OS disc? if u do, insert it and follow the instructions when it runs... got step by step guide (at least for win xp). Dipstick Neutral Newbie May 20, 2008 Share May 20, 2008 (edited) If you are using winxp, why don't you just make use of "system restore"? No need to go through the hassle of a re-installation of the OS. Edited May 20, 2008 by Dipstick
Dafansu Turbocharged May 20, 2008 Share May 20, 2008 Quote No OS disc u still want to format? Then how u gonna re-install windows? normally u buy laptop they dont have OS disc, but they pasted the win vista sticker at the bottom with the code. with this i cant format? or should i say i wanna clear all my stuffs from the laptop to it's original condition when bought
Ultramega 1st Gear May 20, 2008 Share May 20, 2008 Can. You can still format windows. But after that your laptop will be a piece of junk liao. Cos no OS. The code is good for nothing without the CD. Without the CD you don't even get a chance to enter the code.
