Double White Lines @ SG Custom

Here is an account of what i had encountered

when im on my way into JB at ard noon time:

 

(PS: note this is not a complaint thread, just an awarenss thread.

Although i do dislike the 'said' driver )

 

There is a slight jam over at the bridge leading to SG custom,

so i was in the queue almost reaching the end of the bridge.

Just then, a Black Suzuki Swift (not Sports version) SG*2646*

jumped queue few cars infront of me!

 

Okay, after that we were in the 2 'individual' lanes, seperated by Double White Lines (That Suzuki Swift and mine were on the left lane), he then cut to the next lane infront of a Lexus (causing that poor driver to jam brake).

The next thing, i saw 1 police officer (who is holding a small note pad), walk towards the SS and jot down his plate number.

That officer then 'signal' him to wind down his window (passenger side), and i saw from my rear mirror that they had an argument, last i saw the SS driver (male in his late 20s with passenger) came out of the car n argue with the officer

 

Finally something was done to those who cut queue n disobey rule (double white lines),

BUT i really do hope something could be done to those who cut queue on purpose over at the bridge leading to SG custom.

 

Anyone knows what is the offence for crossing Double White Lines??

Just one correction, it is not SG customs, it is Singapore Immigration or Woodlands Checkpoint or the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)of Singapore,

 

Nowadays, the main officers are ICA officers, although there are some police here and there. When we say custom officers, they only collect revenue at the checkpoints. How to differentiate? Well Singapore customs officers' uniforms have golden buttons and threads and epaulettes ...etc ... quite obvious.

 

Lastly, all the checkpoints in Singapore belong to ICA, not SG customs.

If I draft the policy for handling such q-jumper at the Custom, I would;

 

1)take the errant driver passport.

2)ask him to proceed past the immigration and make a U-turn(return Singapore)

3)return passport to him after custom clearance(maybe can give him a 100% check too.

4)welcome him back to SIN and ask him to rejoin the queue at the foot of the driveway again.

i remember i came across this thread, and was absorbed to one of your reply

regards to q-cutting.

 

Simply because being q-cut by others in a long queue really is a pissing experience.

No lar....i started doing this Q cutting thing as recent as 2-3 month ago nia. Cos like what u say....it is a really really pissing experience.

 

So i presume, if u cant fight them, might as well join them.

 

But i sum-par i dont do it once on the briagde.

 

And of course over the MY side queneing.....its EVERY MAN/WOMAN FOR HIMSELF.
