Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 22, 2008 Share May 22, 2008 Hi Azrielsc, so far I am only aware of Mothers Powerball that works well with a drill attachment for polishig wheels. As for the situation you mentioned, I cannot really visualize it, it will be great if you can post some pictures . ↡ Advertisement
Azrielsc 1st Gear May 22, 2008 Share May 22, 2008 Hey Gen2, May I know where can I get myself 1 of those Powerballs? See the photo below, where the place is circled in red. It is right at the edge where the black powdercoated rivetted area meets the polished lip. I haven't been taking care of that part and there is a layer of brake dust at that edge. I am thinking of using the powerball + meguiar's nxt metal polish to clean it off. Will try to tape up the grey powdercoated area 1st. UNLESS!! Unless, i could call on your service? What's the damage? Thanks! Sam
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 23, 2008 Share May 23, 2008 Hi Sam, I don remember seeing any place selling the Mothers Powerball but I can PM you a number who you can call for Mothers products. That's a very nice rim and polished lip is so shiny that I almost confuse with the design of the rim because of reflection at the lower portion . That is a very tight spot and if you are getting the Powerball, you should get the mini version. You can try using a soft toothbrush and a good wheel cleaner to brush at the brake dust, sometimes it works quite well. But if the brake dust has etched in too deep than it will be rather difficult to remove those damages. You can try using the above method first and if it does not work than we can arrange to see it, MAYBE this coming Sunday ?
Azrielsc 1st Gear May 24, 2008 Share May 24, 2008 This photo was taken a while back. I think its worse now. I tried cleaning the rest of the rims' lip area as best as I can with Meguiar's NXT metal polish but its the inner area that I can't reach. Would like you to check out the rims tomorrow. Coming for the meetup?
