Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear April 3, 2009 Share April 3, 2009 i think the reasons why the car is sold cheap, because it is an incomplete package. Firstly, the cause of the stiff gearbox is probably due to the lack of transmission fluid. the unresponsive brakes are also due to the cheap brake fluids Hafei uses. As for the doors that needs to be slammed hard to close, that is considered as a small problem. other cars like the Altis also need to be slammed to close what... just to ask, is there any body roll for the Minz? i believe that since they are using an engine almost similar, if not the same as the Suzuki Carry (1.3L), spare parts from outside service workshops shouldn't be a problem. at most use Toyota's one lah...a bit more ex, but lasts longer... i am sincerely considering the Hafei M8 as my first car, after i get my driving license. plan to take 7 years loan, and sell it off after 2-3years...is that a good option? my primary concerns are that i want the space in my car (for 5-6adults)...don't care about speed (taking up motorbike license to transport me between cars). ↡ Advertisement

Why not get your license 1st? It is a buyer world. By then, you might have better options. Regards,
Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear April 5, 2009 Share April 5, 2009 yes, but what other spacious alternatives do i have? in your opinion, do you think taking bus, mrt or walk/cycle or taxi is better than the Hafei? what do your think? erm, i plan to take 7 years loan, as there is no point in paying full cash for the car...it's straightaway depreciation from your pocket...i have done my research, for any car, take a 7 year loan, sell it off after 3-3.5years, and you can break even, meaning you don't earn from transaction. for 100% loan, obviously, you still have to top-up maybe around 2-3k? but it's always safer to have on hand cash, just in case you lose your job, you know lah? in this kind of economy... Coolpica 4th Gear April 5, 2009 Share April 5, 2009 Not all cars will break even in 3 - 3.5 years. For china cars the resale value is pretty low, so it may take a longer time to break even. Look at sgcarmart to have a feel of the resale price.
Kelpie 2nd Gear April 6, 2009 Share April 6, 2009 yes, but what other spacious alternatives do i have? in your opinion, do you think taking bus, mrt or walk/cycle or taxi is better than the Hafei? what do your think? erm, i plan to take 7 years loan, as there is no point in paying full cash for the car...it's straightaway depreciation from your pocket...i have done my research, for any car, take a 7 year loan, sell it off after 3-3.5years, and you can break even, meaning you don't earn from transaction. for 100% loan, obviously, you still have to top-up maybe around 2-3k? but it's always safer to have on hand cash, just in case you lose your job, you know lah? in this kind of economy... Did you check the monthly instalment difference between the Suzuki APC, Kia Caren and Toyota Sienta? $100 or $200 difference? China car, you want to breakeven quicker? Get a used Hafei or consider used mainstream MPVs. Just my 2 cents. Regards,

Apvman 2nd Gear April 7, 2009 Share April 7, 2009 buy hafei mini with 7 yrs loan without any downpayment and hoping to break even in 3 to 3.5 yrs? Are you joking or what? Did you actually take into consideration on the depreciation value per year, yor omv, coe when you bought the car and as well as the monthly repayment? Once you have all those details, you will get the break even...judging at the low resale value of the car, remb the saying - u buy low, u get low, it will properly take longer than 3.5 yrs...that also means that your car is stil in good condition by then. So many pple already give negative feedbacks on the hafei mini... Go buy a APV or sienta better.
Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear April 8, 2009 Share April 8, 2009 actually, when vertex price the Minz 1.1L at $25,000 1.3L at $28,000 and the M8 at $32,000 considering that the OMV is around 5-7k, i think they overpriced the car by around $7-10k...of which they earn... anyway, i don't understand why the Minz seem to be quite popular on the road...just think that the low price is the main selling point... so for those who think of getting the Minz, haggle for at least 5k off the price...plus free rear DVD player, sun visor and tinted windows with solar films, blah blah blah...to get a really good deal... Kelpie 2nd Gear April 16, 2009 Share April 16, 2009 anyway, i don't understand why the Minz seem to be quite popular on the road...just think that the low price is the main selling point... Actually, it should be the opposite. Why do you think "Minz seems to be quite popular on the road"? Based on LTA statistics: HAFEI Jan/09 = 6 registered Feb/09 = 4 registered Mar/09 = 13 registered To date = 23 registered Only 23 Haifei versus how many Japs and Korea MPV on our roads? These figures speak louder. Regards,
Searth63 Neutral Newbie March 19, 2010 Share March 19, 2010 hi, Based on the sales record - Year 2009-2010 - for the Minz, and the hIgh Costs of Doing business in Singapore,.. there IS a BIGGGG risk that Hafei SG May simply close shop - according to the chirps of a little bird,... Searth63 Neutral Newbie March 19, 2010 Share March 19, 2010 Hi, can the group of Hafei Owners group-up and sue this Agent ? On the following grounds, 1. that the Hafei sold was inherenly defective since day 1 (I remember taking delivery of the MinZ in Nov' 2007, and within the same evening, the Speedometer konk'd out) ..plus a whole long list of defects, THERE WERE NO PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION for such a model, 2. The Minz is simply NOT safe. How this model passed the LTA's homologation',..remains a mystery. Some examples,... The Car's Jack is too low for the MinZ When jack-up the Minz, the Jack-point of the MinZ body Framt dents-in (like a tin can),..metal REALLY IS VERRRRRY SOFT GO to the show-room,..open and pull the door to the extreme. The door-hinge to van-body pulls the body metal and shows an obvious hump',..the metal really IS soft etc,.... Something Needs to be done - before the Local Agent closes shop, and walks away, scott-free Please advise Thanks
