I had the same issue when I had just changed to V12 and was running ~130-150kmh in NSE (at 230kpa front and back). It feels a little "wobbly". It behaved fine when it is <120kmh. Several months later at my next Msia trip, the "wobbly" feeling somehow disappeared at high speed. I was also at 230kpa (front and back) too. I cannot explained but since it disappeared, I just let it be. In any case, when I am in SGP, I am on 250 kpa front and 240 kpa back. In those rare cases when I hit 140 kmh in SGP roads (after the tyres have been burn-in), I also do not have any "wobbly" feeling. Maybe you can try higher pressure. Else, you may have to burn-in the tyres a little longer. Best regards Hi Enots, Thanks for sharing your experience. It's exactly the same situation. below 120 is its fine. I used to have 912 on my previous ride. Its adequate and grip is acceptable most of the time. Easy to wheelspin and aquaplaning seems more frequently. Having said which, I change the car after 2mths on it. Overall, its really just acceptable. Nothing to scream abt. Would give it a miss if I were you. RelaxLah Clutched February 1, 2011 Share February 1, 2011 Wht's so special of having nitrogen air tires? ..My personal experience was my normal air tyres expanded from 32 to 48 when I reached Kuala Terengganu...but when I change to Nitrogen, the tyre expanded from 32 to 38 only..This means the tyre don get too hard and a harder tyres will adversely affect the braking distance and oso grip... Are you sure you are using tires with correct load index and pressure as specified from the manufacturer ? Hi Solar, I am also curious if we should let out some air during long distance /high speed travel. I had came across the following article quite some time back. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/tec...e.jsp?techid=72 In summary, it says that as we travel at higher speed, the side of the tyres flex more times per second and it is bad for the tyres. In order to compensate for the increase number of flex that comes with higher speed, it is recommended to increase pressure at higher speed. From the link, the recommendation for increase of pressure starts at 190kmh and beyond (for tyres which are W rating; V12 belongs to this rating group). Since it is practically not possible to consistently travel at >190kmh in NSHW, it seems that there is no need to do anything at all. Maybe some experts can share your views. Thanks in advance!!! PS : For me, before I travel along NSHW, I always reduce from 250kpa front/240kpa back to 230kpa front and back. I just feel more at ease mentally to reduce marginally the tyre pressure........Don't ask me why! ha! Best regards. Solar Turbocharged February 21, 2011 Share February 21, 2011 i suppose also need to take into consideration the time spent travelling at high speed now come to think about it... i was driving up to cameron highlands.. continuous driving for 7-8 hrs, only made 2 rest stops the whole trip up. didn't think about all these... this is probably why nitrogen is recommended in this case? So it seems applicable in your context too regarding 7-8 hrs of continuous travel. The only part not too applicable is the top speed allowed!
