Wreckwrx 1st Gear May 12, 2008 Share May 12, 2008 Really depends on your need otherwise aimless shopping will just make u more confused... Simple questions you need to ask yourself are: 1. Hand Carry or Check-in? If Hand Carry, then you must consider Economy Class or Business/ First Class and also the airline you are using as the overhead compartment vary in sizes. A good sales rep at the store will be able to advice you (eg. whether can fit SIA Economy Class etc....) 2. Hard shell or soft skin Hard Shell offers a bit more protection to your contents but soft skin usually allows you to really squeeze in more stuff because it is "strecthable".... a feature that is very good if you are a hardcore shopper..... 3. Frequency of usuage If you just need a luggage for your annual family vacation, then don't need to get very expensive type. Save the $$$ and use it to for more shopping at your destination. However if you are a frequent traveller, then surely you need something more durable to cope with the frequent mis-handling by luggage handlers at the airports. Warranty (especially on the moving parts like the wheels) also becomes an important factor is you are a frequent traveller. 4. Ergonomics If you need to frequently drag your luggage from city-to-city, or one airport terminal to another etc.... Then ergonomics is very important. A simple curvature of the handle makes a whole lot of difference with regards to aching shoulder blades. Add-on features are also very important. For example does the height of the handle allows you to attach your laptop (an extremely useful feature for those travelling for work) easily. 5. Wow Factor Finally, the "wow" factor. If you are decked from head-to-toe in top notch designer gear, then naturally when you travel, you got to travel in style. Go ahead and get your LV luggage bags if money is no object..... Wreckwrx 1st Gear May 12, 2008 Share May 12, 2008 Actually people tend to forget that LV started out as makers of trunks and travelling cases..... (pretty much like our modern day samsonite)... But the pricing is really.... The price paid for one piece LV luggage bag can easily pay for the entire family vacation to Korea already...... Wreckwrx 1st Gear May 12, 2008 Share May 12, 2008 Actually those brands like Polo Club..Swiss Polo...USA Polo etc...... has quite good deals (especially those buy one get one type of deals)..... I just bought one of those recently and for it's virgin trip, I took it on through the following schedule: Singapore - Surabaya (Flight) Surabaya - Jakarta (Flight) Jakarta - Bandung - Jakarta (Bus) Jakarta - Semarang (Flight) Semarang - Solo (car) Solo - Yogja (car) Solo - Jakarta (Flight) Jakarta - Surabaya (Flight) Surabaya - Singapore (Flight) The lugggage took a lot of punishment because it wnet through various flights, got hauled up and down cars and buses and not to mention constant packing and re-packing because I was practically in a different hotel every night. Pretty impressive for a chirpo brand. I got mine from OG (People's Park).

Gnahp Turbocharged December 21, 2012 Share December 21, 2012 If you can stretch your budget a little bit beyond samsonite, have a look at Rimowa.

Treeweeldog Neutral Newbie December 21, 2012 Share December 21, 2012 If you can stretch your budget a little bit beyond samsonite, have a look at Rimowa. "Every Case tells a Story" because of all the dents it's gonna accumulate! But, the warranty is good and the bags do last. From what I've seen they'll even do patchwork repair if the bag gets punctured (the aluminum types).
