Garlic 1st Gear May 5, 2008 Share May 5, 2008 You can plug the holes with a rubber grommet, they cost less than $1 a pair from hardware shops. The contour of the hole might show up again after a few months if you putty and respray, constant stress from expansion will also cause putty to crack. Elfenstar 3rd Gear May 5, 2008 Share May 5, 2008 (edited) Exactly!!! The proper way is to tack weld a small sheet of sheetmetal from below, then seam weld from above, sand it flat then putty and spray. Edited May 5, 2008 by Elfenstar

Rb26dett Clutched May 10, 2008 Share May 10, 2008 i have friends who did theirs at slightly lesser than 140 bucks if i am not wrong.instead of using putty , its welded , sand smooth and respray entire boot.2 of my buddies just had their imprezas done .might check it out with them where and anyone interested can pm me i will try to provide the contacts. oh ya , dun bother with those "putty patch" and spray type.after a short period of time, the patched part will look "sinked" in.i personally had this bad experience before. ↡ Advertisement
