Where to buy Region Free DVD players in SG?

Supersonic

I didn't really Philips. But it was cheap so I took a chance.

I had bad experience with their old crt tv though.

So I guess it's like buying a car, sometimes you get a lemon.

But when it's cheap enough, it's worth a try.

I have two pioneer DVD/HDD recorders at home and both are region free. 1st one bought from Courts, 2nd one from Harvey Norman at PC Show. [thumbsup]

And another Enzer DVD player also region free, from SLT.

My Pioneer DV-355 (region free) is nearing it's shelf life. I've been to Courts and Giant (cheapo mah) and so far it's all Region 3 players. Any recommendations?

OT...my Akira and Hyundai DVD players CMI...died within a year+. thumbsdown.gif Can't read the discs (for Akira) and can't write (Hyundai recorder)

Get the LG latest DVD recorder model RH387H..retailing at $555 or slightly less depending on where you buy it!

Super multi compatible with all media even DVD RAM and comes with HDMI port, DIVX etc and full HD [thumbsup] !

$555?! Aiyo. I still using conventional CRT 34" TV. I just need a simple DVD player. Gotta get 3 sets. Living room, master bedroom and Mum's room.

I really like Pioneer stuff. Reliable. Weird thing about my Pioneer is that it can't really play my old 'chiong' VCDs. hur.gif In the past, it could but now...

Anyway, anyone knows whether there is such thing as the player able to play DVD but not VCD? Not lens problem right? My Hyundai can play DVD and VCD but the recording function can't work liao....

From my experience those cheapo DVD players somehow can play most dvd and have better shelf life than those more expensive one. Currently, i'm using shinco [nod][thumbsup]

well somehow, it could be coding or dunno what that those cheap vcd i buy for my kids can't play on those branded players but able play on my cheapo players. if u see those sellers of the vcd/dvd, they are using the cheapo ones. [sly]

I've got a Shinco portable one. Good stuff I must say. Can't seem to find them now though. Only thing also is that it's Region 3. Can't find the software to unlock it.

Probably is the quality of the disc. Those *ahem* discs probably bulk kinds...poorer quality. My favourite CD-R/DVD-R is Imation.
