Ahwhye 5th Gear May 1, 2008 Share May 1, 2008 communication is just a small prob, international sign language aka finger-pointing can do most of the time. What i cannot tahan is the way these chaps cook, ever once tried one hongkong style roast meat and double-boiled soup that was so out-of-the-worldly salty and oily, just like some northern/western china food sure close shop soon one.... I have hard time communicating with the PRC in foodcourts, hawker ctrs etc. They don't understand what I'm talking.Last weekend, this ah pek was ordering his dessert at a foodcourt. The PRC don't understand ah pek's dialect.KNN don't know if anyone of you encounter similar experience? ↡ Advertisement

Ahwhye 5th Gear May 1, 2008 Share May 1, 2008 (edited) tell that to those millions-dolars men, they will tell you "see, i am right, be gladful, FT has indeed created some full-time job for you peasants. For those who cannot accept the FT realities, of course there is only one way...out lor" yes, FT r indeed replacing locals. my mil used to be on yrly renewable contractual basis for 1 of the prominently located hotel. however, due to the fact that it is "cheaper" to employ FT, they r letting her as well as her colleagues (all locals) go. for those who has not completed their contract, the hotel offered a contract to the locals where they do not get the benefits of a full-time worker but hv to fulfill the working hrs of a full-time worker. now, only FT are full-time whereas locals r on part-time. so for those who buy FT are good, sooner or later, u or yr offsprings might not hv a job to speak of in future. Apollo 1st Gear May 2, 2008 Author Share May 2, 2008 This is a good one, never know he can be so funny..... , tell that to the neighbourhood kopi-soh and tiger beer auntie, they sure peng..... Third, many SMEs do not make good profits, especially the neighbourhood shops. If they can hire some foreign workers in addition to the locals, they can reduce their business costs; otherwise, they may have to go out of business. Thier Singaporean employees will then lose their jobs. PM Lee said the Government is controlling the inflow of foreign workers, by setting limits on the proportion of foreign workers they can hire and imposing a levy. This gives Singaporean workers the edge in competing for jobs. 'Overall, our policies are creating many job opportunities for Singaporeans,' he added. http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2...ry_232960.html i was wondering how they made up the statistics of so many blowjob opportunities for singapore? do they send their surveyors down geylang to find out? Leepee 1st Gear May 2, 2008 Share May 2, 2008 I think the 'older' Singaporeans are disadvantaged as they are 'stuck' here with HDB and car loans. So lan lan have to endure the humiliation of FT taking over their jobs. I am sure the fresh/young graduates can see thru this problems, and many are leaving Singapore en mass. Not getting stuck with 30yr HDB loans, etc, living the way of the FT mentality aka "Anytime not happy, just pack up and leave here" The situation is changing, the fresh and young Singaporeans will turn the table around in another 4-8 years time. I am sure the next two erections will be turning points. When the old man is no more, miw will surely have more internal problems. In fact the slapping of the son case was the prove already. The old lee is still holding everyones balls tightly for now. Just wait....when miw can't receive anymore tips from the old man, internal rife and mistakes will be more common and who knows what will Singapore become. Patwong 3rd Gear May 2, 2008 Share May 2, 2008 ===Quote=== The PM gave three reasons: First, foreign workers are hardworking and willing to work long hours. By hiring them, coffee shops can open late, or even 24 hours, round the clock. Second and more importantly, with the help of foreign workers, airport, seaport, factories, offices, hotels, restaurants and retail outlets can offer better service and business hours: 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, they can run their operations, service their customers, and so strengthen Singapore's overall competitiveness. ===Unquote=== From the above, i think PM is refering more to the job created that Sporean do not want to take. Spore, as a developed country, the citizens also developed to become 'higher class' people. Look at the toilets janitors, they are either the foreigners or elder people that still leads a humble life and find cleaning toilet is ok = honest living. Ask any sporean below 50years-old (i think), would they want to take the job. Maybe, dont talk about cleaning toilet. How about job created in the retail industry, many Sporean also shun this type tof job due to longer working hours and need to work wkends.

Apollo 1st Gear May 2, 2008 Author Share May 2, 2008 1st -- he probably implying his team is not hardworking. yes, remember tat complacent ministar who went shopping ard food court hunting down patrons and karcheow them whilst pple still eating. he sud hv been displaced by a FT who willing to working longer, go into jungle and get the limping terrorist with his own bare hands. Second and more importantly, with the help of foreign workers, we may not even need to pay his PMO in excess of $200 mil a year to run it. inside 1 PrimaryStar and 2 ministar and 2 PastPrime stars. the FT team will offer better service and longer operational hours: 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, they can run their operations, blah blah blah, and so strengthen Singapore's overall competitiveness. ↡ Advertisement
