Neoxenon Neutral Newbie May 4, 2008 Share May 4, 2008 Good choice on the S2000. But those cab I listed are mostly 4 seaters, or they could at least sit 4 people. I personally like the MX-5 (and now the 1-series cab .. hehe), still cannot find the money to own either. 4 seater cabrio with character? You forgot the MINI Cabrio... go for a MINI Cooper Cab if you intend to drive leisurely, or get the MINI Cooper S Cab if you want it all - open top, seats 4, great looks and nice pick-up! Valjean Neutral Newbie May 11, 2008 Share May 11, 2008 If the Cabrio went for only $125k, it would be quite tempting, but doubt so. Anyone knows if the car is in PML yet? I went to Performace Motors last week to ask about the BMW 1 series. It comes in 3 versions. The Cabrio, the Hatchback and the Coupe. Price ranges from $116K to $125K. It will be available in May. Pyramid_sg Clutched May 12, 2008 Share May 12, 2008 I went to the opening of the BMW 1 series at the Fullerton One. Quite crowded. They had free flow of Champagne, cocktails, good food etc. BMW hired DJ Hybrid from UK to play Acid Jazz music. Denise Keller and Utt were the MCs and revealed the three models of the car. I didn't quite like the hatchback. It looks like the old 3 series with its back chopped off. I quite liked the Coupe and the Cabrio. It was quite crowded as everyone wanted to see the cars so I decided to go see the Coupe. The coupe is a 2+2 car ( 2 in front 2 behind ) No space to sit in the middle because they have some kind of storage contraption in the centre. The exterior of the car is very good looking, nicely shaped curves. The interior is quite interesting. It looks like the interior of the 3 series (current model) but feels different. I liked the paddle shifts. The 1 series is available for booking and test drive. I will be test driving the BMW Coupe next Sat. Will let you guys know how the car runs

Pyramid_sg Clutched May 17, 2008 Share May 17, 2008 (edited) Test Drove the BMW 125 coupe today at the Reflection@Keppel Bay. Wonderful test drive. The car looks really nice from the outside. However, the moment I tried to get into the driver's seat, I had trouble fitting in . Maybe because I'm a guy and a little on the overweight side. Inside is a 2+2 seating. It is surprisingly quite spacious inside despite the size of the car. I was a little disappointed with the dash board and the manual seat controls. I was expecting a little more like the I-drive for a car of this league. Its after all a sports car with a $151 price tag to it. The sales executive asked me to drive round a mini circuit before exiting the grounds. The turning radius is surprisingly very small and could negotiate the circuit without any problems. As soon as I got on to the main road, the 3 litre in line 6 engine kicked in and I was blown away. This is car is really powerful and road holding is excellent. I took it to Pasir Panjang and put it through its paces through the "13 turns" at Kent Ridge. Road holding from the DSC & ESP ensured it stayed steady throughout. Felt really safe throughout the drive. After that coming out from the 13 turns, I took the car to the AYE and let her rip. Man this car is a beast. This car really picks up like a rocket. This car attracted a lot of attention. Even from the Mercedes drivers who gave me a thumbs up. Couple of Caucasians were wondering what car I was driving and were a little distracted from the road. The car sound insulation is fantastic and it was really quiet inside. Brought the car back to Reflections with a broad grin on my face. Really glad to have test driven the car. Yipsy1 Neutral Newbie May 17, 2008 Share May 17, 2008 Hey, was at Mount Faber this afternoon. Saw a white BM 125, the sides labelled as 'test drive BMW car' driving up Mount Faber. Looks really good. Too bad can only afford a second hand BM. Too expensive to pay for such a car in Singapore. Let the first owner take the bulk of the depreciation. Care to give us a spin after you have bought the car?
Knighthunter 4th Gear May 17, 2008 Share May 17, 2008 Anyone test drive the basic model 118i 5-doors?
Damienic 5th Gear May 17, 2008 Share May 17, 2008 I test drove the 118i and 130i today at Reflections..(haha might have seen you but dunno who you are)...actually my intention was only for the 118i but the SE said not many pple today and encouraged me to test the 130i too. The car feel solidly built..Yes, the turning radius was really small and amazed me too..when I was told to drive within those cones after the engine was ignited, I was thinking might hit some cones if not careful..but I could do it with ease..The handling was really impressive and feels rather responsive with this 'growl' even though its only inline 4 and with 0-100 looking only 10.1 secs on paper. Cornering is done with ease and so is overtaking..Most aspects impressed me save for perhaps the suspension was a bit hard and less comfortable when compared with the likes of Saab. The rear cabin space was also nothing to shout about but in my opinion sufficient enough to cater to my needs. The boot size was quite good for a hatchback of this size. Wasn't as small as I thought it would be. All in all, the driving experience was good and more than make up the negative aspects of it. The OMV was 32K according to the SE, of which the pricing seems quite reasonable at 116,800 to me. A few other premium cars with similar OMV are selling at 125-128K..I suspect PML is going for volume for this particular model..oh before I forget, its a RWD too.. Needless to say, the inline 6 130i offers an even more exhilarating driving experience..the engine growl coming out of this 3L car is breathtaking..just makes me want to rev and rev..haha.. Ended the test drive feeling satisfied..the photographer came and took a picture of me with a grin on my face..
