Hi

I'm looking for the plastic sun shade which you paste it on the top edge of the windscreen. Comes in see-through blue, green etc. Helps to screen off direct sunlight from driver's eyes.

Anyone know where to get it from ?

Thanks in advance !

IMO, those Matt/Opaque ones works much better than clear ones...

Clear ones, most tint/accessories shop have them... Be it in JB or SG..

Hiya brudders,

Dig out this old mouldy thread to discuss, any bro can tell me where to get this sun shade strip done, preferably on a Sunday.

I am using this broad rear view mirror and therefore it is awkward to pull down the car's sun shade.

I was at AB today but they only have those types which I find too small and may not be effective.

Anyone, please?

Since you want it done on a Sunday, then Stamford. Check their website for the branch nearest you and the opening times. Or just go to Jurong for the widest choice.

FYI I think LTA has a ruling that it cannot b wider than 6" or something.

This is to prevent pple from putting it till halfway down the screen like in Indo & Thai. [rolleyes]

Bro, the one I saw at AB was just a piece about 12-15" x 6" or less.

If I fix up at workshops they should know the requirement of LTA hor? [confused]

Thanks for the info. [thumbsup]

Ths standard width selling sud b about the right size.

But some shops wil do wider for u if u request but they might not even know its illegal.

Anyway the width exceed a little I think LTA also wont check.

Its just to prevent pple from doing what they do in Indo & Thai where the width can b 12-18" even.

Just want to know whether if i also want to paste at the side windows, is it legal? I saw a lot of taxi uncles also paste.

Good question.

I think the rule that wil apply is it cannot b darker than something like 75% VLT for front side & 25% VLT for rear side windows.

Same as the allowed tinting for the whole of the side windows. So if u paste those dark tint, its not allowed but I guess TP is not too strict on this as long as u paste just the top few inches only.

Another alternative is those stick on (with suction cups) on fabric screens which can b removed easily.

U have to remove them when u go for your annual inspections.
