I rarely use GPS thus my standalone tom tom unit & the power cord is usually kept out of sight in the centre console box. Tom tom user interface is great (I prefer it to garmin) but it has limited map updates and POIs. it doesn't warn of speed cameras LOL. If I could get the convenience of a GPS in the HU, I think I will choose Garmin over Tomtom (which makes GPS for pioneer HU). strangely enough, while the price of standalone GPS units have plummeted in recent years, GPS-enabled HUs still command a substantial mark-up over non-GPS units. Solve all ur problem at a much lower price... actually no. I don't like full touch screen mobile phones and I dun like having the mobile phone on a stand/holder on my windscreen haha. And using waze just drains the batt. Having to charge the phone in the car is also a hassle. I use waze occasionally (usually on NSHY) but didn't like the navigation interface. Good to see traffic updates and polis activity.

Lhkang Neutral Newbie July 12, 2013 Share July 12, 2013 Map updates may not be free, as the integrated GPS inside the Kenwood are not the commonly sold models.
