G9_driver Neutral Newbie April 19, 2008 Share April 19, 2008 For your size I did ask before yesterday, slightly above $200. Sin Ming Autocare, #03-20. Look for one old man Mr Ong. (Every floor only got 1 lift landing area, his shop directly besides the lift landing) any contact number besides address? $190 for 215/45/17 is pretty decent. Biohazard 1st Gear April 21, 2008 Author Share April 21, 2008 Then y do ppl choose RE001?
Furrynadz 5th Gear April 21, 2008 Share April 21, 2008 cos falken is overpriced here, and inferior compound compared to bridgestone but the ratings do reflect accurately, the 452 wears around similarly to eagle f1 or dunlop dz 101 (280-300 range) which the re001 being a replacement for g3+s03 is made of a softer compound obviously due to its asym design its not as potent slicing water as a v groove design, but makes up for it by being better in the dry for predictability and handling re001 might be a better choice if u dun push its limits in the wet, 452 is just another f1, good for wet and pretty much that considered f1 excellence or re050a? Karnaugh Neutral Newbie April 21, 2008 Share April 21, 2008 Agreed. I have clocked about 15k mileage on my current RE001s. Although they might be adequate on the straights during wet, its handling is terrible in the corners under the same condition. The tyres loose their grip easily without giving much warning and it is very hard to predict their capabilities as compared to their dry performance. A buang tyre in the wet I would say.. however in the dry, I share the same sentiments with most of the bros here. Lastly, the performance of the tyres don't really last. At 15k now, noise level and handling deteriorated by quite a huge margin as compared to brand new. Will be getting the RS2 for my next tyres.

Saabretooth 2nd Gear April 23, 2008 Share April 23, 2008 Thanks for all replies/FRs! Just wondering how come no one try FK452? Is it because it's Falken? Welcome. I find the RE001s last damn long, just that I begin to dislike its cornering ability. Compound is good, but its really hard and stiff. feedback in terms of noise doesn't give me predictability. Other than that, its a very decent tire. ↡ Advertisement
