Neoxenon Neutral Newbie April 4, 2008 Share April 4, 2008 Mixed feelings... Street Directory has been useful for checking directions, but they've a notorious reputation for being overly hard on small-time businesses and individuals for using their maps on things like invite cards or websites. So they end up looking like some corporate bully... much like the Odex anime case... I don't have any issues with them being shut down... I'll just use the printed street directory as usual... :)
Slowmo Clutched April 4, 2008 Author Share April 4, 2008 You see, they are being too hard on small companies, i mean, would you pay USD2700 for just a 3x3 inch jpeg image of a map of your building? And its for a year i believe. Even forums also face take down notices, I think they are wayyy too free... I think this is karma. User friendly or not, people will feel the heat if they get sued for stupid things like putting their map on their *personal* wedding website. Slowmo Clutched April 4, 2008 Author Share April 4, 2008 What!? Nooooooooo!! I have always been using www.streetdirectory.com to search for maps of places when I have no idea how to get there! Try other alternatives, or use a normal book form map

Slowmo Clutched April 4, 2008 Author Share April 4, 2008 yea, they'll have my support too... why sue them?? they are also not doing a huge crime...!! They are helping us...!!! well, perhaps you weren't aware of some news back when they took quite a few small businesses and individuals out to court or asked for $xxxxx of compensation for using their maps for xxxx amount of months. I suppose these things get forgotten easily.
Zxcvb Turbocharged April 4, 2008 Share April 4, 2008 Exactly. Singaporeans forget easily (66%). tsk tsk. My friend running a small business kenna from them. There was no warning whatsoever, much like the Odex case, letter sent and ask to pay penalties for using the map. There were many unsuspecting victims who shared the same fate.
