Mark X Test Drive

I had a great day test driving the z4 2.5 roadster and the z4 3.0 coupe yesterday. First went to PML alexandra to take the z4 2.5 to PML Dunearn to switch over to Z4 3.0. Wow, the power of the 3.0 is amazing, i even tried to chase an Audi R8 from lornie to adam road. Went all the way to 150km/h, the SE just smile like no big deal. He even asked me to drive into some ulu twisted road where there's monekeys at the roadside off Dunearn to try the cornering. The last part of the test drive is to take the 2.5 with the top down back from Dunearn to Alexandra. Total time spend with the Z4s abt 1hr and 15 mins. That's what i call a real test drive and i wasn't even pushed into a deal after that was just asked to take my time to consider.

 

Thats what I call a proper test drive. KNN I still recalled years n years ago, I went to Komoco test drive a Hyundai. The SE said "go to mainroad, turn left, go str, turn left at traffic light, left again, left once more, turn back into Komoco

Same with the new STi test drive I did recently; just a short straight in I(diot)-mode, stuck in jam, U turn, change to Sport #, floor it, change to 2nd, slowly drive back to showroom..

I think worth to get it 2nd hand. When buy from some PI you worry about the delivery, hidden cost,..etc.

 

At 2nd hand, all these initial worries are settled and the first owner already lost quite a bit to make your depreciation lower liao.h

I saw some old posts you were considering to get 2nd car for yourself. Either IS250 or 323i. In the end whats your choice?

I see a number of resale Mark-X on the market. I assume back then it cost abt 110k bah.

 

For a 2-3 year Mark-X selling at sub 70-80k, worth to get ?

 

As compare to a brand new one abt 100k.

 

Definitely worth it, but keep in mind those selling at these prices are 'F' package X's.

I actually got asked BM and PI that time whether they can bring in IS350 or not le. Long Ching gong buay sai .

 

But then after 335 came out in SG, I tested it(and it was a proper test drive about 1 hour), kena poisoned . I made some compario n at that price level, there is not much competition of similar cars that can give the kind of performance, looks, space(still can carry 4 pax), and the badge-factor. Audit TT was also considered but a bit like a midget's car le. My barn-tark too big for it. BMW M3 out of my budget gotta settle for a 335.

335 is a great car!

 

My friend in USA leased one and drove me around. Its very powerful. However, within 2 months, he sent the car in twice for repair. The power wondow got problems..

 

I remembered you say you will make one details plan/ data study on the IS250. Is it done? Can share?

Oh that one huh, so long liao, anyway its not done by me la but one of my friend did it. I think IS250 ended up cheaper than BMW325 after all those adjustment. Anyway all the conti cars in SG are over priced.

go to a 2nd hand dealer that has markX, show him your 100k cashiers order and say u wanna test drive, if cannot, move to next dealer

Go Borneo motors test drive IS250 then decide lor. Its the same engine with Mark-X but slight diff in horsepower nia. My friend did that, same day after test drive IS250 he go PI and book a Mark-X
