Ak7887 1st Gear June 8, 2009 Share June 8, 2009 update after 2 days of using nanoball. used quarter tank liao. Usual mileage is about 130km. But this is only 77km! Wonder if nanoball needs some time to get working? Peter did tell me results will show after 1 week. Will continue to update. Latest update:- Half tank. Travelled 204km. Usually 250km. Still no good, but closing the gap Looking forward to the end of 1st week on Thursday.
Vextan 1st Gear June 9, 2009 Share June 9, 2009 peter's workshop is known for modding cars for performance, not known for fuel savings. thats why his charges are even higher than AD, because his specialty is not doing normal servicing, but performance modding. Ak7887 1st Gear June 10, 2009 Share June 10, 2009 (edited) As promised, here are the figures of my experiment with Nanoballs in my Touran. Week - 0 Date - 04-Jun km indicated - 11516 Distance Travelled - 453.00 Fuel Pumped (L) - 48.04 FC (km/L) - 9.43 Week - 1 Date - 10-Jun km indicated - 11947 Distance Travelled - 430.90 Fuel Pumped (L) - 50.39 FC (km/L) - 8.55 Week 0, 4-Jun is the day Nanoballs was installed. Other than a slight improvement in pick-up, the 1st week of use shows an almost 10% increase in FC . Will monitor and report in this thread. Will be driving up KL this weekend. FC probably will improve, hence week 2 results may not reflect truely the effectiveness of nanoballs. Edited June 10, 2009 by Ak7887

Still crossing my fingers that it will work after the first week . Was told that I will see the effect after the 1st week. Alas, going KL on Sat, so the result may not be accurate since the drive up will clock lower FC. Nevertheless, will report accurately the FC everytime I pump. Hehe.... never told you guys, my cost of nanoball is actually 30% off as this is the first Touran Peter is installing. The discount is applied to every first model he install and photo taken of the car for his sales catalogue
Ak7887 1st Gear June 21, 2009 Share June 21, 2009 Here is my latest update of the FC of my Touran using Nanoball. Still inconclusive but will monitor and compare the FC for another month. This KL trip included driving up Genting. Must say that the torque of Touran is really impressive. Very powerful driving up to the top, overtaking almost every car along the way, losing out only to Malaysian taxis !! Really power on demand, don't even need to use paddle shift to engage lower gears at steep slopes, unlike my previous Civic. Amortifiedpenguin Clutched June 21, 2009 Share June 21, 2009 Hmm... cant see much significant improvements. should have gotten broquet instead, it has better figures. continue updating, people are watching, Peter is biting his nails. lol. *why is it that the temperature reading on the dashboard is always above 30deg? a) it displays the cabin temperature and you are not using a/c. b) it displays the outside temperature and you are pretending to be in singapore when you are actually in sahara. c) it displays your engine coolant temperature and your engine is runs at 5rpm. d) it displays your car chassis temperature and even though it is a ridiculous piece of info you cant seem to make it disappear. Unfair 3rd Gear June 23, 2009 Share June 23, 2009 You guys do know that fuel needle is not very accurate.... FC reading is also thus not accurate... Unless you always 'pump when 3/4 tank left' and observe the mileage/FC over a period of time BEFORE installing nanoball, then do the same test AFTER..... its all baseless comparisons. Anyways, to keep pumping petrol when @ 3/4 full seems to be a waste of time/effort/petrol.

Yes, I do use A/C. The weather lately is very hot I guess. I never really check where VW locate its thermometer in the car but I always discount about 3C from the actual reading. During the day, it usually reads above 33, highest being 40 once when the day was impossibly burning. At night, it is usually slightly below 30. But these few week nights, it is really hot, don't you agree? In Genting, the temp recorded about 22 - 25. Edited June 23, 2009 by Ak7887

Anyways, to keep pumping petrol when @ 3/4 full seems to be a waste of time/effort/petrol. Before Nanoball, I have been checking FC and it usually records about 9.5km/L. My habit is to use up the petrol until the meter says the fuel is good for 30km left. Hence, I will use the same method to check with Nanoball inserted. However, I will use what Peter has told me, is to pump full at night before going home, so that the nanoball can `react' with the fuel overnight and gives a good FC. Still hoping it works....... Good luck, hope your investment works. If something can 'react' with petrol for so long and provide so amazing results, shell is gonna close down (because they never put such stuffs in) very soon once you promote it to enough people. Boxster 2nd Gear June 23, 2009 Share June 23, 2009 Maybe those should be installed in the tanks of the petrol stations instead of install in car's tanks
Ak7887 1st Gear June 24, 2009 Share June 24, 2009 Maybe those should be installed in the tanks of the petrol stations instead of install in car's tanks You are quite right. However it is our nature to find better alternatives to improve. Hence, car parts and accessories are a big market. I know its a lot of `sales talk' using Nanoball. Even got no result in FC, the pick up has actually improved using 95 octane. Its ok lah, at least I share the results so that car lovers are better informed when considering such products
