Contax 1st Gear March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 Maybe all fellow MCFers should boycott buying from ExxonMobil. Perhaps this can give ExxonMobil the KEEN competition they're looking for! useless one , even if you boycott ALL the oil cartel here , how long can you tahan ?Go JB and pump ? ↡ Advertisement
Damonfong Neutral Newbie March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 If everyone mentality is like : no use one lah.... talk only no action, nothing will happen. We are not going to boycott all pumps in Singapore. Only selected one only! For me, my action. I WILL NOT PUMP FROM ESSO FROM 28/03/08! Hope more will follow and might see results. Thanks. Lv3338 Clutched March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 (edited) Since they mentioned "Our refinery in Singapore purchases over 90 per cent of the crude oil it processes from third parties and is subject to market fluctuations. " These refinery are so near to Singapore, they should have lower distribution and transportation cost. Why are we still paying such a high price as compared to the regional countries ? Sillypore ? It is time for the government to do something Edited March 28, 2008 by Lv3338
Mustank Hypersonic March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 1)sg puts tax on petrol while neighbours gives fuel subsidies 2)higher land cost of petrol kiosk (the rental cost of a pump in jaybee is differrent from that of one in bukit timah 3)higher human resource cost (higher salaries of sg workers as compared to my or indo or thai 4)possibly lower contstruction (of petrol kiosk) costs due to lower manpower and possibly material cost in neighbouring countries
Mustank Hypersonic March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 why particularly esso when clatex is the one who is alwasy the first to up prices?
Contax 1st Gear March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 I have not been using EssoMobil since 2005 because I don't like their customer service as a whole and I've move over to Caltex. So , just because EM has reply to the newspaper forum , and you're not too please with their answer , you wanna boycott ? You have to look at the industry as a whole ; every oil company is increasing the price not only EM .
Contax 1st Gear March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 it varies , sometimes it's Shell who increase the price first.
Damonfong Neutral Newbie March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 Hi, Because, we have to choose one, and the one mentioned here is ESSO. And I am a man of action, talk and do.... Not talk and talk. Finally, if we wait till everybody had decided, then maybe it will not happen. I do no have any grudge with ESSO. Thanks.

Pencapchew Neutral Newbie March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 I guess its bcos of the "convincing" reply from the Exxonmobil elite which leads us to try and boycott esso 1st. If the forumers here are ok with boycotting then i say lets go on with it. No point one by one saying lets boycott and the rest agree but do nothing while others keep questioning and also do nothing about it. If all the forumers here are united in doing this, i believe even if its a small impact, in the long run they will surely feel it and actually do something when they look at their sales start to decline... hopefully. No matter how small, this can only be achieved if everyone actually does it and not NATO. For those who frequent esso stations, what's your take on this??? Its a sacrifice that you have to make. Are you willing to lose those smile points???
Damonfong Neutral Newbie March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 Thank you, Bro. The smile points can be redeemed first right?
Contax 1st Gear March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 we all know. I'm thinking the one feasible way to 'educate' these local oil cartel is to ask/tell the gaberment to remove the 3/4 rule so that we all can go over JB to pump cheaper oil . The 3/4 oil rule from what I see is just a protective measure to help all these oil cartel to prosper so that the gaberment will benefit from the tax collection indirectly. Contax 1st Gear March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 and SPC is always the last to increase price.
Adrianli Hypersonic March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 let's stop patronising esso ... I never pump esso/mobil in SG except for the free petrol vouchers from insurance renewal. I only pump Shell in SG. But I love SYN F1 across the causeway.
Damonfong Neutral Newbie March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 "gaberment to remove the 3/4 rule so that we all can go over JB to pump cheaper oil ." This will never happen. Maybe when we .

Miketow Neutral Newbie March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 I think the Singapore Public should feel UTTERLY INSULTED BY THE SHIIT REPLIES GIVEN BY THE OIL MAJORS. Please identtify the emails and contacts of these oil majors mouth pieces and send them a direct email or a MIDDLE FINGER!
Testa_ross4 Clutched March 28, 2008 Share March 28, 2008 It will happen, when cars run on fusion power in the future, when that time comes you can pump all you want in JB in your 200 yr old Altis. LOL! ↡ Advertisement
