Bridgestone Turanza GR80 is good enough for wet and dry

never go for ze326, it's proven accident prone tyres

Sorry for the old thread.

Was doing a search on MX1 as I like to replace my 2 mths old ZE326 and saw this thread.

Fully agree. The noise is higher, yes very high and control is bad on wet road. But cutting thru pool of water is gd.

just signed up for nissan's package for servicing and extended warranty.. they gave me some discount vouchers..

of which, there is one that gives me 3 different tyres to choose from as follows:

Falken ZE326 - $75/pc

Yokohama ES501 - $80/pc

Sumitomo HTR - $80/pc

got a few quotes for below as well:

Bridgestone Turanza GR80 - $95/pc

Hankook V8rs - $105/pc

may i know which one is good?? bottom 2 is good reviews.. how about those offered by TC?? like never hear the model before.. [:/]

ES501 is quite good. Used it once. Quite quiet and grip is good on wet roads. Below is the details from Tyrepac

The DNA db ES501 is a new addition to the ASPEC dB range of tyres. Based on Yokohama

Anyone using BFGoodridge? Recommended by friend so far the grip is pretty strong on the roads. [bounce2]

used 1 set before. BF goodridge g-sports 14" at $75 3 years back pricing. DAMN Solide peformance tyres , super good grip both on dry and wet road. I'm confident to go 90 - 100 km/h on this tyres during raining/wet road on my kia rio. made in thailand though.

but hor, damn bloody loud and noisy tyres too... so sad have to give it up after 1 year cos the noise is too unbearable on my poorly insulated kia rio.

hihi

actually got nothing to do with insulation. I am on BFG GFS 215/45/17. Grip i find is gd. But one really hav to stand the loudness of the tyres... for me, think next tyre will be V12 or F1 ba. quite a turn off with the noise

Hi,

Just to share my personal experience.. Have tried GR80 n Yoko aspect dB, both didnt seem to perform well and were not as quiet as advertised. Wet weather handling was bad especially the GR80; floats over water ponding; balls shrink every time travel on expressway during heavy rain ;-( (which surprised me as I expected it to be better than the dB). Recently tried Falken bcos it was much cheaper, din have too much to expect, but surprisingly it is the best I have so far. Not sure abt durability as I have only used it for abt 3 mths but the wet handling is superb compared to the previous 2 that I have personally tried. I think the model is 912 (the all season one), road noise is also pretty good; even better than the GR80. So I think it's really value for money :-)

Mine is 205/55/16 price varies betw 120 - 130 bah.....

Cheers
