yup...$590. That was the price they quoted me when I went down to SLT few days back. Comes with no map and it's for nuvi 300. So i'm sure the 350 would cost more....

I am. Just visiting US on business trip.smile.gif

Only regret so far is using Amazon free shipping. They delayed shipping for 7 days since I ordered.

I hope to get it before I leave. frown.gif

Amazon price move around. I have it in my cart since last year and the same item has dropped frrom US$350 to US$250 today.

Every few days, the price just keeps dropping.

You can order from Amazon, they take international credit card and shipped to vpost or some other similar.

But if you're not lucky, I heard it might get stuck in custom due to the lithium battery issue recently.

Also for the same item, Amazon sometimes shipped from different suppliers, so price can vary quite a bit. Usually, I picked the cheapest inclusive of shipping charge.

I have done some check so far with Jurong island there is only 3 search result from the gold version. I believe the next version will have more cos alot of people have contributed POIs for JI for past 2 months or so. [;)] Hope this helps.

But for the price and free U.S. map, it is really a steal [;)][thumbsup]

Just got my Nuvi 350. My first experience with this device is awesome.

It brought me back to the hotel without getting lost driving in US for the first time.laugh.gif

Driving here at night is really brutal, there's no road lights and signs can't be seen until too late.

Gps change all that. thumbsup.gif

So far its good. Maps are FOC,voice navi is not unsure.gif

Wanna ask u,does malsingmap update Jurong Island? I've compare msm and Nokia maps,msm only show JI highway

JI is still considered a restricted area, thus MSM is not going to put a lot of "details" in there...

Garmin Official maps, shows a lot, but they are mostly 'outdated'.. that's what I heard... thanks to our SLA lah.. I think purposely one...

I am waiting for the Kenwood DNX7320, which uses Garmin with Ipod Connectivity and Bluetooth too!

http://asia.kenwood.com/special/2008navi/sin/index.html

If it is too expensive, may just get the DNX7100 from Amazon

Shd cost around S$1800 with shipping, according to the guys in Malsingmaps.com

N95 which i totaly REGRET. The only plus pt is the 5MP camera...

===================

I too heard that model is not that good as a GPS. I heard the 6110 is better but I'm still not 100% convinced.

I now see Samsung has come out with a couple of GPS phones & the price is quite reasonable. I'm considering them also.

I aiming to get a Nokia 6110 which has the GPS installed. Can carry around or use it in the car.

A much better alternative if u ask me. [thumbsup]

Much cheaper also. But only if you do not mind having a tiny screen size that is 3/4 of a credit card.

========================

The small screen is not so much a problem cos it has "voice prompt". I just listen to it instead of looking at the screen while driving. [nod]

You should get the Samsung which runs on Windows Mobile6, these pda-phones are really handy nod.gif I got the Asus P750 but if the Samsung came out earlier I would have gotten it, cheaper! smallcry.gif

The built-in US map works really well while I was there.

Now trying malsingmap...it's quite good by comparison. The weird thing is it refers to roads inside hdb carpak as alley, and is also slower to acquire satellite here. Maybe due to the hbd buildings, while in US, there was little high-rise where I used it.

if any of you considering getting samsung phone for gps forget it. the navfon software seriously sucks. i using i550w. change it from n82 cause wanna try out the gps on samsung. waste time. i must agree nuvi is pretty good cause i use to own a 610 but sold it cause realize that updating of map at malsing is really a pain in the a$$.

R U referring to the Samsung i550w that's selling for abt $188 in recent papers advertisement? I didn't know it was a PDA phone?

This model is on offer & comes with a 1GB card, car holder & car charger for free [thumbsup] . This looks like exactly what I am looking for but I'm not sure how reliable the GPS is & if it comes with "voice prompt.
