Dptm Neutral Newbie June 5, 2003 Share June 5, 2003 (edited) Hi All this may seem kind of stupid of me, but wat's the proper way to use a chamois cloth? just wipe like a cloth or put it flat and pull along the surface? find it very difficult to wipe, like rubber rubbing against rubber Edited June 5, 2003 by Dptm ↡ Advertisement
Ahleon Neutral Newbie June 5, 2003 Share June 5, 2003 Yo...bro... Guess you got those really water sucking rubbery chamois....me using the autoglym leather chamois...no problem using it like a cloth. Usually, i wet it to wash away the any dirt and squeeze dry b4 wipping. cheerz..
Dptm Neutral Newbie June 5, 2003 Author Share June 5, 2003 yep, the rubbery kind
Assassin Clutched June 5, 2003 Share June 5, 2003 Hi DPTM, Am not sure which one you got. Anyway, here's what I do when drying the car. For some products, the 'stickiness' will be less obvious after a few uses. Drying panel sequence: roof, bonnet, boot, front quarter panels, rear quarter panels, doors, skirtings. Hold the chamois at both diagonal ends to get the maximum length and pull it across the roof to drag off most of the water [i find this to be the fastest way]. Wring dry, and wipe in straight overlapping parallel lines. I dont wipe dry by going in circles just in case there are any small grains of dirt/sand stuck on the chamois which may leave round swirl scratches on the paintwork...which are more obvious than straight scratches. Remember to frequently wring dry the chamois and rinse if in a pail of clean water to get rid of any dirty water or particles trapped in the chamois. Just my S$0.02 worth.
