Silver_blade Turbocharged March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 (edited) My vote goes to Westin....not too ex, good spread of food for breakfast and good location. If you want your car washed (complimentary)everyday, then go for J.W Marriott, but like (Ritz), I find their breakfast to be disappointing. Rooms at J.W. Marriott is also so-so. But their saving grace is that they are connected to Starhill... Ritz's service is top notch. You will get a butler at your service. All these hotels are near Pavilion, Starhill, Lot 10, Jalan Alor (lots of hawker food), Sungei Wang, etc...Especially good for those who like to shop in expensive/branded shops and spa. If you want top-rate room, service, etc (but less accessible to hawker food and less malls, etc)...go for Mandarin @ KLCC. So usually shun them when I drive to KL. I find Regent a good choice too. Nice LCD TV, spacious room and an air of what 5 stars hotel should be. Silver_blade Turbocharged March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 (edited) Regent is now Grand Millennium. Wonder if anything has changed. For Regent, I hate it's carpark and their service. Had a run in with one of the duty manager a couple years ago over a misrepresentation of their part....she was totally rude and unapologetic. Since she wouldn't admit their mistake and was rude..I checked out and drove over to Ritz. Since that incident, I never step into that hotel again. It was Westin 90% of the time (which is around 8-20 times a year), be it for biz or leisure. It's not that I am petty to shun it over a small incident...but staying in a hotel is all about experience. Once there is bad vibe...it's just not quite as pleasant anymore. Miketow Neutral Newbie March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 I enjoyed the Ritz when I stayed in KL, but it is very small - like an apartment, hardly a lobby just a small counter that looks like a concierge serves as its check in. Also teh butler service- overated. OurButler came in and introduced himself - later at around midnight the same day, I buzzed him for ice but no where to be found. Another butler took my request, but never showed up!! Wayang one lah..all the Butler downstairs at Sungei Wang eating prata.
Silver_blade Turbocharged March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 (edited) So lousy ah? I had no problem so far...maybe there were no VIPs staying there during my stays. ...Wayang one lah..all the Butler downstairs at Sungei Wang eating prata. Not just the butlers but their security officers too. I often see them eating at the street food stalls just behind their hotel. Achtung 6th Gear March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 I am gonna go tomo. Westin corporate rate is abt 400+ RM. I am going for Nikko this time. Presea 3rd Gear March 14, 2008 Share March 14, 2008 We always stay at the Hilton, and take the train/LRT/taxi to town for shopping. Alternatively, by car, it's a short drive to One Utama area or KL city for heavier shopping trips. Despite the out-of-town location, I really like the security, makes me feel safe. And the buffet breakfast is always something to look forward to... Great rooms too. Restaurants are not too bad, but Chynna is overated!

Kb27 Supersonic March 14, 2008 Share March 14, 2008 Many times I stayed at PJ Hilton. It is much cheaper, corporate rate is about rm200 for me. You can either walk a bit and take the LRT to KL shopping centres or take taxi. Driving in KL is a nightmare with the traffic and getting lost going around in circles and getting stuck in yet another traffic jam trying to find the right way. Lexxmexx Neutral Newbie March 14, 2008 Share March 14, 2008 You can try Hilton or Meridien, both at KL Sentral. They have decent parking facilities.
Ronnchee Clutched March 14, 2008 Share March 14, 2008 For driver, what is impt is parking, and secured parking. For that, I would suggest Trader Hotel. ↡ Advertisement
