Audio video cables

hi,

 

need some help in setting up my home theatre system.

my friend gave me a set (dvd player with the speakers) but without the cables..

so wan to ask which cables to get to connect the player to my tv.

im confused.

 

there are 2 types of 3 colors, 1 is the red, yellow and white and the other is red, blue and green. so which one do i have to get?

 

do i have also to get the 2 colors, red and white one too?

 

wat is for wat?

 

pls enlighten tis not-so-techie soul.

For the red, yellow and white :-

red/white = Right/Left channel of analog Audio

Yellow = Composite Video

 

For red, blue and green = Component Video

 

 

If your TV supports component, get the red, blue and green coz it yield better quality if not, just connect the composite.

red and white is the audio. L and R.

yellow is the composite video.

 

red, blue and green is component video.

 

if you tv has component video input (most probably yes), then you connect red, blue and green. it will give the best video quality.

 

to connect audio, you need to connect the red and white to your tv.

yah i think my tv has the red, blue and green.

 

so basically i need to get 2 cables, the red, blue and green for my component video and also the red and white for the audio?
