i don't usually make a post.. but I have been to this church once and I will never go anymore [shakehead]

all the talks are about donate to the church...totally no transparency at all.

after that, i see young members 'comparing' how much they donated... [shakehead]

I went once and felt disturbed by a couple of phenonmeon I saw:

1)Members selling and promoting Sun's albums and posters within the church compound

2)When the church service abt to start, the first thing that went on the PA was annoucement on Sun Ho's recent major achievements in the record industry (such as achieving platinum sales in some countries) ahead of anything else.

3)Overly lavish building

Felt it was over commercialised and a lot of basking in personal glory + promoting of idol worshipping. [;)]

I went once many years ago with a Christian friend (but not from CHC) when they were just starting out. They were then operating from an unused cinema theatre building at Geylang Serai. There was a lot of pressure tactics to make us 'believers' and members of their church. People who were also there for the first time and expressed their desire to leave were talked and persuaded to stay. Both me and my friend felt so uneasy that we sneaked out halfway when they had an interval in the session.

For some of these churches, they seem more interested in expanding their membership numbers (for what reason I wouldn't know) than really preaching and spreading God's message effectively.

That was about 19 years ago. I do remember seeing some strange pamphlets being passed around then promoting the group.

Once upon a time, SG has a group called Children of God.... they dont make enemies, they make love..... ohh yeah

[gorgeous][inlove]

You are right sis! [nod] That unused cinema threater was just walking distance from Paya Lebar MRT station. If you make reference to today's map (2008), it is the opposite direction of where D Mix is currently located. [laugh]

Yes, they were more interested about membership and attendance. [thumbsdown] I had some personal experiences with them which eventually made me decided to leave them and settled elsewhere. [shakehead]

I somehow thinks its a combination of ego and desire to become financially strongest that is the force behind them aiming to expand the membership in the shortest time possible. It feels good maybe to be termed as the largest church in the whole of Singapore? Somehow one can sense the rivalry between them and the other mega church in town as they try to outdo one another in membership base.. [:|]

i concur with your last statement. Seems like the policymaker in the organization is more incline towards the building expansion rather than the well-being of their ex member.

To me...... the crux is that he is a EX-member
