Genie47 1st Gear March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 Also if you are a billionaire in the UK before 1974, you would be bigger than an American billionaire. Before 1974, UK billion = 1,000,000,000,000 US billion = 1,000,000,000 Under Tatcher changed this on advice from the Bank of England and so now the billion is standardized to the American billion so the UK billionaire is the same size as the American billionaire. Genie47 1st Gear March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 Now is standardized to trillion. Last time before 1974. Not so clear cut. In SG, since we are former Brit colony. Our billionaire will be bigger than an American billionaire.
