Getting a Used Getz

Hello,

 

I am seriously thinking of getting a used Getz. In the small car category, I like its look and space and I also think that it should be quite reliable

 

There are few variants avaiable - 1.1M, 1.3A & 1.4A (will not condier the 1.6 version). Like to seek opinion from fellow Getz owners which vaiant is the best amongst all, and what is the reasonable price for a 2 ~ 3 yr old car ?

 

From Straits times and online carmart, the price of a close to 3yr old Getz is around 30K. Is this a fair value to pay for ?

 

The other option I am considering is to get a OPC at < 20K and convert it to a normal plate, which will work out to be around 30K.

 

Also, if anyone is thinking of letting go your Getz, please let me know.

If good FC is a concern, consider the manual versions as FC for Hyundai Autos tends to suffer.

 

This Getz 1.1m looks like good deal, only 1 yr old and around your budget..

Before U buy the Getz, do check the engine bay carefully for leaking oil from beneath the engine and also check for signs that the car may be turbocharged before. Get an independent assess of the car by an inspection centre first.

Very tempted to get the manual vesion but wif can't drive.

Is more fun and economical to drive a manaul. The last manual car I had was >10 yrs back.

Hmmm .. how to know if it had been turbo charged before ? Any tell tale sign ?

the 1.1M has no power window but will be locally fitted for front windows only. the button is at the dashboard

Would you consider a 1.4L(manual) Kia rio hatch for $34K? 1 yr 11months old.

 

- Red colour with 15" sports rims

- Got power windows all around

- Regular servicing @ C&C

- Still under 3 years warranty

- Confirm got more power than than 1.1 getz

Then u can only consider the 1.3A & 1.4A versions. There is no Auto for 1.1 version. IIRC, 1.3A are the older models while recent ones are 1.4A.

I do know that conti cars more fun to drive, but cost is too high.

For a budget of 30k for a 2-3yr old car with Auto transmission.. besides Getz, can also look at Picanto and Savvy..
