Damienic 5th Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 He had betta solve the problem by re-capturing the terriorist to make up for the mistake. In my opinion, if he could not atone the mistake and the terriorist was not caught in the end, there is absolutely no reason for him to stay put let alone ask for high pay.. ↡ Advertisement

Vista Neutral Newbie February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Quote Not his fault but as the head you have to take responsibility for it..otherwise why are they paid so much to lead...with a higher position means greater responsibility..in the corporate world, if you are the finance manager and your accounting exec made a huge mistake, even though its not your fault but as the supervisor, pple will expect you to ans for it...if a sales dept headed by a manager is not doing well, even though the manager might have created pretty good sales but if his subordinates dun, the boss will still hold you responsible if the dept overall do not meet sales target..>>>> but in pap land it dont work this way. so many soldier died and the millionaire retarded are still there paying themselve million dollars salary. just look around and see for yourself

Chris80 Neutral Newbie February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Quote Honest mistake to me means incompetent. They did not delibrately do the wrong thing, but somehow it still went wrong. That is incompetent. Maybe he concentrate too much on rehabilitation. Rehabiliation and yellow ribbon project are more important than security. Gearoil 1st Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Quote I don't think Mr Wong K.S. should resign. It's not exactly his fault...but I really do expect a good explanation on what happened and how they are going to make sure such incident do not happen again. But that would be after everything have settles. Meanwhile, I would like to know how come the public wasn't informed much earlier. His explanation is not convincing and lacking. So what is then REALLY his fault? You mean he must be the one at the tiolet and at the same time then considered his fault, is it? Gosh..you're so....I don't really have to word for it! BEING IN CHARGE MEANS EVERYTHING THAT OCCURRED WRONGLY IS HIS FAULT...O.K? NOT NECESARILY MUST BE IN THE TIOLET AT THAT TIME
Kungming 1st Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 If it isn't his fault, then it must be Mat's fault for limping away, he should have stayed put for the free accompdation and meals!
Silver_blade Turbocharged February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 (edited) I feel that this incident does not warrant his resignation cos it hasn't done any real damage (eg. major building kenna bombed, plane kenna hijacked and exploded cos of this escape, or s'pore economy is badly affected b'cos of this, etc...). I feel the top police officer, where this detention center, is under his charge should go instead of the minister himself. Head(s) must roll for sure but which level of the hierarchy should we stopped? My take is that a lot depend on the severity of the incident and the seriousness of the damage(s) done to the nation. Otherwise, the PM and his deputies will have to go too eg. PM (Boss of DPM), DPM (boss of MHA minister, etc...)? Like I have expressed in my other post. The minister of the Home Affair should not be free of all blame. There should be a big black-mark in this record. He should be held accountable, and this word is so foreign in the PAP world. Every huge mistakes, the leaders are never held accountable. They always have some silly reasoning that's never satisfatocry. With the lame answers they are dishing out, I wonder how they can survive in the corporate world, to think they want to compare their salaries to the top earners in the private sectors. Silver_blade Turbocharged February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Aiyoh...how can you say that. It's "an honest mistake".
