Silver_blade Turbocharged February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 (edited) I don't own either one...but I have close friends who are driving these models. From what I gathered, the stream is more value more money, drive better at high speed (stable:NSH), has rear aircon (compare to Mz5 rear vent) and interior material is of more durable quality (tho Mz5 interior looks much better). On the re-sale value part, I would think Honda would command a slightly re-sale value compared to Mazda. I think the mark-up Mz 5 is rather high..compared to stream. Mzrmazda3 6th Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 (edited) For me, i would get the Stream Newer model and looks chio-er Mazda 5 is out for quite some time liao ... Servicing cost should be more or less the same since they are both Jap rides Insurance maybe Stream slightly higher due to the 'H' badge Handling wise, Stream should win Resale wise, Honda should be better Consumption wise, maybe Stream ... Road tax cheaper since 1.8L niah Edited February 28, 2008 by Mzrmazda3
Friendstar Supercharged February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 u wan to compare u must compare stream AD versus mazda5 AD from sgcarmart. mazda 5 2litre is @ $72,788 stream 1.8litre is @ $77,000 i will take mazda 5 anytime. 1) cheaper 4+k cheaper for a high cc model 2) powered sliding door (thats what MPV should be about) 3) SPACIOUS 4) good after sales service (tested and proven) 5) Innovative folding seats. read up the website 6) MOST IMPORTANTLY, its not ubiquitous. I really hate common looking cars. u save 4+k, if u take loan, this 4+k will compound to even more.
Friendstar Supercharged February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 oh btw, the reason why i mentioned compare AD versus AD is because personally i dont like dealing with PI so if ur friend is TOTALLY comfortable with PI, then its another story... Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 New Mazda 5 lauch liao. Improvement over the old one: 1) 2nd row aircon 2) 5 speed AT and better engine, which make the ride more responsive and also suppose to have better FC 3) Electric sliding door on both side (Control by driver or remote control) 4) Multi discs player as standard with ipod input 5) White meter cluster 6) Better central console to control aircon and display of info 7) Minor change to exterior which make it even sportier look . 8) 2 remote 9) Arm rest for 1st and 2nd row

Handling - Mazda 5 is not too bad with the re-tune suspension 03. Passenger and storage - Mazda 5 should win 03. Resale - Stream confirm better 04. Consumption - Similar 05. another others comment[/reply] Plus point for Mazda 5: 1) Electric sliding door on both side (Control by driver or remote control) 2) 2nd row aircon 3) Arm rest for 1st and 2nd row Plus point for Honda: 1) Good Honda engine 2) Same OMV as Mazda 5, and yet cheaper. 3) Better resale value in term of body. Djcoolmax 2nd Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Oh.. Mazda 5 has also a slightly higher rd-tax (2L as compared to 1.8 for Stream)
Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Mazda 5 is a better MPV. But I guess the overall cost of owning it is higher due to higher mark up by MM. Similar OMv but Mazda 5 more expensive by at least $7k. Also, Stream should have a better resale value despite cheaper to buy
Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 Yah, slightly with the discount from LTA
Simply_lex Neutral Newbie February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 I bet your 75K refers to PI's RSZ stream. this model and the style edition comes with 1st & 2nd row arm rest as well. (these 2 models only available from PI) ↡ Advertisement
