Hi all in MCF,

This is my first post in the forum although I've been following the postings for a few months now. Pardon me for the long lo so message as I need some advise from the audio gurus out there.

I have just bought a pre-owned car done-up (halfway??) with a Blaupunkt Casablanca CD50 HU with 6" Boston components in front, 5.25" CDT Classic component for rear and a Soundstream free-air sub (10"?) in the boot. These are all powered by a Sony (last generation model) 6-CH amp.

The SQ is not as good yet as the bass seems to be stronger in the rear, with the front lacking some refinement in high frequency. One reason could be the tweeter for the front component is mounted on the door, covered by the speaker grille.

From my previous car, I've the following items taken out:

a. Sony CDX-7800V MP3/VCD/CDR HU

b. Lanzar Vibe 410 4-ch amp

c. Sony XM-222 2-ch amp

d. 1 pair of CDT 5.25" Classic component

e. 1 pair of AD 6" component

f. Bazooka 8" basstube (EL series) passive

My main question is whether I should invest in a 10-disc changer for my Casablanca CD50, since this HU is quite high-end as well, and the SQ is good when its kicking. Anyone have any lobang in installers with good knowledge and pricing for the Blaupunkt product.

My main objective is to have as little modification on the setup which will translate to more cost effective. [blush]

Once this has been done, I'm looking into selling some of the above items, as I will not have use for them. [:p]

Appreciate your advise on any good installers, and probably some comments on the ideal setup. Also, pls feel free to email me should you be interested in buying any of the above items, which are all in v.good condition. Or perhaps, I will post in a new thread officially later next week after I sort out my ICE setup.

cheers ! [:)]

Welcome to MCF... enjoy your stay.... do check out Auto S email and send him a email to check with him... but think the best... is that u just go down to Zoom to look for Auto S and he'll advise u accordingly..... but from what i've heard from the rest..... he might not be the cheapest that u can find... but he'll do a good job for u to maximise what u already have.... another one that u can check with is ICE_Soluna.... see what they can do for u.... Will probably drop by Zoom this weekend. By the way, is Zoom open on Sundays and P.H.s?

Hi,

It's a Mondy MkII, and quite a car indeed! [blush] Will probably need more advise from you and all those driving the Mondy out there on topics like mod (simple & direct ones first) and others.

At this moment, it's ICE first!

cheers. [:)]
