Chucky2007 Turbocharged February 25, 2008 Share February 25, 2008 (edited) Hi guys, need some advice here. My current tyre is 205/45r16, thinking of changing to a slightly thinner tyre for a little better pickup as well as some FC saving. But thicker sidewall for more comfort as i personally feel 45profile tyre is too hard (now already pump down to 200kpa).. if i go for a thicker sidewall, at least i can pump up to 220-230kpa with the same effect. i am thinking of 195/55r16. is there such tyre profile around in singapore? personally i've seen 205/55r16, 215/55r16 but not yet 195/55r16. please advise... thanks.. Rickster 5th Gear February 25, 2008 Share February 25, 2008 195/45r16 should be available. Though might not be 55 thick, but at least, the thinner tyre width at 195 should reduce FC and improve pickup a little.
Chucky2007 Turbocharged February 25, 2008 Author Share February 25, 2008 195/45 is a little too thin, sets back my over tyre profile, sidewall thinner than 205/45.. good for fc but will be quite stiff.
Ahdi Neutral Newbie February 25, 2008 Share February 25, 2008 195/50R16 is good. depends on the size of ur rim. 16" x 7JJ using 195/50 shld be fine.
Kyojin 1st Gear February 25, 2008 Share February 25, 2008 not advisable, the difference in diameter based on ur current size and 195/55-16 is more than 4%. it will increase your chance of brake failure. u may wish to consider 195/50-16, which is less than 2% difference.
