Kelpie 2nd Gear February 24, 2008 Share February 24, 2008 1. I installed the anti-thief film and was given a crash sensor. But this crash sensor needs a car alarm system to work. Then, I realized that my car doesn't come with car alarm but only the immobilizer. The installer of the flim told me I have to pay around $150 to get an aftermarket alarm that work with the crash sensor but they don't have stock at the moment. 2. You guys fitted any aftermarket alarm system that work with the stock car's key? Any recommendations and lobangs? Thank you very much. Bluemice 2nd Gear February 24, 2008 Share February 24, 2008 hi, do u mean a shock sensor ? ie if some1 or something hits your ride, while its parked, it will sound off the alarm or warning tones ?? If yeah, save the $$, cosz one such unit cosz only If its the other type, whereby it detects an sever impact/ accident, the unit will unlock all doors. then this is really worth its value. But then, u dun need alarm for that, as long hv central locking/unlocking shld be possible too. oh, wats the brand + model ?? pls share. mice

If yeah, save the $$, cosz one such unit cosz only <$50, thus to spend $150 so that u can use it ... err... u get my point. If its the other type, whereby it detects an sever impact/ accident, the unit will unlock all doors. then this is really worth its value. It should be a shock sensor then. It is suppose to sound upon impact. This is equal to someone trying to break-in by smashing your windows and the alarm will sound due to the impact. 2. The shock sensor is included in the price of the installation. But alarm costs me another $150. They told me no stock so I didn't ask what brand that they are giving me. You have cheaper lobang for the alarm? Regards,
Bluemice 2nd Gear February 25, 2008 Share February 25, 2008 hi, in this case, do u noe if its a shock sensor or is it a glass break sensor. two different thing. but the glass break sensor wun be able to detect impact shock, while the shock sensor, if tuned sensitive enough( though may giv u other prob) may be able to detect glass breakages. Also both works via different concepts. sry, no cheap lobang for alarm... but got lobang for expensive alarm , will set up back S$400 for a good unit. imo, its not worth to install an alarm if u just wanna use the "shock" sensor. mice
Sgnick 1st Gear February 27, 2009 Share February 27, 2009 Hi, i too have installed antitheft film, and was given a glass sensor. I asked them to connect to my car alarm. Most car alarms already come with it's own built in shock sensor. So u just need to connect the glass sensor to the alarm. Then u will have both glass sensor and shock sensor. Glass sensor works by sensing sound, specifically the high pitch sound of glass. U use your key to tap on the glass the alarm will sound already. Shock sensor senses vibrations, u kick your tyres hard or some very loud sound like thunder can activate it.
Leepee 1st Gear February 27, 2009 Share February 27, 2009 Wah very very businessminded solar file installer! Purposely give 'free' shock sensor.....baiting car owner to pay $150 for the car alarm. Most likely the the shock sensor are Already part of the $150 car alarm package. Many AD don't install the shock sensor as part of the 'free' keyless entry for customers. Perhaps the solar film dealear is the appointed AD's installer of alarm system and has many shock sensors left overs as spares! Maybe next time, other car workshop will give one free rim. But must buy the other 3 rims and 4 new tyres from them! ↡ Advertisement
