Civic155 Neutral Newbie March 9, 2008 Share March 9, 2008 Quote cng is for big and expensive cars. 1. their high omv, say 80k for a merc s300, savings of 40% rebate = 32k. cost of cng is still 4k, so savings of 28k. The only CNG model C&C is selling at the moment is E200 NGT. so the rich will get richer.....

Kelpie 2nd Gear March 10, 2008 Author Share March 10, 2008 Quote cost of conversion is not cheap leh. not sure worth or not If converting new cars with 40% off OMV is still ok. For current ride with no rebate, if conversion is $3k. Must travel how many km or how many year in order to save back the 3k conversion invested? Hence, my answer is to pump petrol in JB. JB petrol is cheaper than our CNG in SG. To me, CNG is still a good to have at this moment, particularly so for existing car owners who pump petrol in JB. Dane Neutral Newbie March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 would it be possble to make CNG on a Nissan GT-R ?? quite a saving with 80-100k OMV...
Akula Turbocharged March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 Depends on what car you drive, generally a std tank can take in about 11-12kg plus minus, can NORMALLY travel btn 200-230 km with it, so works out to be abt 1kg/19km.... some will get better mileage/others worse.. Spurman Supercharged March 17, 2008 Share March 17, 2008 Quote if 1 year 1 drive 30K KM then ard 1.5years can start to see ROI. It is a long term plan and I have 6 years to do it. The case here I indeedn drive 30K per year so I did my math. After that should be ok and savings will fill my pocket. Well it is still a gamble dunno abt future. I did early so still cheaper ...LOL I started ealier so got advantage. Some people cannot wait to recover their 3K investment. For me if I stick to petrol I am still paying ard the same price if you think about it monthly. By 1.5 years latter (estimated) I will have a bigger smile ! So i see it in a way that i have nothing to lose. Judgement is always on oneself and not on other opinion. So your call. Make the right 1 and only yourself will know the actual results. I rest my case. LOL Damn, me tempted by CNG liao. I driving a Getz 1.1, not bad FC already but becoz I drive like 40,000km yearly, petrol bills easily $400/mth..++ Now more becoz of increase in petrol. Angry liao with petrol. My car 2.5yrs old only, sell now lose jia lat jia lat...3rd yr my ride will break even. So really comtemplating to get a new ride.. Btw, anyone has the map on the Jln Buroh CNG station? ↡ Advertisement
