Karoon Turbocharged February 27, 2008 Share February 27, 2008 (edited) Quote A lamborghini owner was said to have bought one with CNG and save abt 100k from the rebate. The OMV of the car is over 250k..haha.. where to put the tank? on the driver's lap ah? lambo rarely got boot space, let alone put in cng tanks snd if a super car goes fully cng, he probably can drive only 50km before refuelling Edited February 27, 2008 by Karoon ↡ Advertisement

Samshio 2nd Gear February 28, 2008 Share February 28, 2008 For your info, I checked the citroen c5, which cost about 90k. If I opt for the CNG version, which takes up about 2/3 of the boot space, it will cost about 9k cheaper. If there is a CNG station near your house or work, it's quite tempting. Eyke Supercharged March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 (edited) Quote cng is for big and expensive cars. 1. their high omv, say 80k for a merc s300, savings of 40% rebate = 32k. cost of cng is still 4k, so savings of 28k. The only CNG model C&C is selling at the moment is E200 NGT. Edited March 5, 2008 by Eyke

For most of the petrol driven car, it should work one. Not so for diesel driven, whether with Turbo or not. Regards,

Ltmpl Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 if you are driving turbo car , the power loss might be more and it also depends on your car model . it will depends on where your tank is and the length of the pipe need to connect to your engine . it make a huge difference . just my 2 cents
Dirtrider_ak Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 You can still fit CNG on diesel cars. Why would you want to do that as diesel is already the most effcient engine around.
Kelpie 2nd Gear March 6, 2008 Author Share March 6, 2008 (edited) 1. Please read this, taken from www.cng.com.sg: Converting Diesel cars is not as easy as converting Petrol cars. There is a simple reason for that. The mechanism of Diesel cars is based on the principle of "self ignition". The combustion in Diesel engines is reached by mixing the Diesel fuel with hot air under a high pressure. Then, the fuel ignites automatically; an ignition spark is not required. (This is also the reason why a Diesel car should never be filled with ordinary Petrol). CNG, however, has a high ignition temperature (about 600 Edited March 6, 2008 by Kelpie
Dirtrider_ak Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 yes u can still have diesel engine cnverted to CNG. Like I say why would u want to do that when diesel itself is the most effcient engine.

Like I say why would u want to do that when diesel itself is the most effcient engine. 1. It is up to your own interpretation. Melchers already stated in their website that: "Please note that we do not offer the conversion of Diesel cars.". It is just not feasible. 2. Did I say I want to convert a diesel to a bi-fuel(CNG) in the 1st place? Regards,

Dirtrider_ak Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 Melchers do not offer conversion does not mean it is not do-er-able. I am waiting for a company that does. If SBS bus can run on CNG ... then it will be possible just that they choose not to. Do research wider. I know you do not want to convert diesel to bi fuel but why was it brought up about diesel with CNG technology? Are we talking about a diesel engine can be bi-fueled with CNG? Contradicting and confused.
