road tax is $2500 [sweatdrop][sweatdrop][sweatdrop] ($1.25 x 2000)

imho the road tax is still too expensive its 1k more than the petrol variant.

in addition diesel price is now $1.50 so the max you can see is 35 percent off your monthly petrol bill - assuming annual petrol bill is 6k, it works out to be about 2k or so of savings. imho there is savings but not very attractive. you most probably get more savings via the cng route but warranty void (not a good idea for a citroen)

erm you save on the excellent mileage. a 2.0 turbodiesel give an urban mileage of around 15km/l. not difficult to hit 16-17 on expressways.

and there are cheaper diesels if you know where to find. unlike petrol where you are restricted where to pump. in singapore. [:)]

i know diesel has better mileage but dunno if it can hit 15km/l if the petrol variant is only around 9km/l, thats 50 percent better mileage.

just out of curiosity how cheap is the cheapest diesel, if around $1 to $1.10, then worth considering.

ok for info, most eurovans are hitting 16-17 km/l. thats just an average. some can hit 19-20.

OEM diesels cost around $0.20 less per litre than at fuel stations.

please don't use OEM diesels for your cars.

just look at what happened to the Skoda, VW cabs. messes up the engine and emissions.

but diesel cars would be great for those who travel extensively to meet clients on a daily basis or frequent trips up north.
