Glyuen 3rd Gear February 25, 2008 Share February 25, 2008 how much does it cost? TBN a little low i think.
Chucky2007 Turbocharged February 25, 2008 Share February 25, 2008 (edited) if 4L of Rev1 cost around S$30-$40, can try.. but dun think it will last long as TBN is low at 7 leh.. the Amsoil i am using is around $60 for near 4litre.. but specs wise is much better. https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/asl.aspx if it cost anything more than S$45... forget about it. Muchie Neutral Newbie February 26, 2008 Share February 26, 2008 Just to check does that mean Schaeffer 9k 5w30 also not as good? I have checked, the TBN is 7.1 only...
Trex101 3rd Gear February 26, 2008 Share February 26, 2008 TBN is the amount indication of acid fighting additives but does not necessary means that the higher the TBN the longer the oil can last. It's the TBN depletion rate that matters, Schaeffer is known to have very low depletion rate thus TBN 7 can usually last more than 10k miles (16k km) at least. Do a UOA search in BITOG, there's alot of Schaeffer samples that last more than 10k miles.
Ferrari7 Neutral Newbie February 26, 2008 Share February 26, 2008 Yes. Fully agree with Trex on TBN depletion rate.
