Something to share with everyone especially those who has kids in primary school.

Last time, we used to have this with POSB but I am glad OCBC has taken the initiative to revive it.

Do check it out if you want your kids to enjoy and cultivate savings for a rainy day.

My sisters has implemented it and my nieces and nephews stop splurging their pocket monies on erasers/tibits to saving it.

shucks...finger faster than brain...laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

omitted disclaimer "i am in no way associated with ocbc bank nor derive commission"sly.gif

just find that this way can cut down kids collecting erasers (which is not cheap from school bookshop) or stuffing themselves silly with tibits. parents also no need to buy stickers and teach the young kids to have fun while saving.

not applicable to those in sec, poly or tertiary pirate.gif

one stone kanna many birds so must share right flowerface.gif

Right, I remember those days when I was young and encourage to save. When DeeVeeSssss took over, those with less then $500/- in their account have to pay service fee monthly ($2/-).... [:/][:/][:/]

Hope ocbc do not start this just to cash in more account holders. For you & me, $500/- at one go to open an account for the kids is not much of a problem and they proceed from there on without having to pay the service charges monthly.

But some poorer families, it take quite some times for their kids to reach $500/- with their daily school allowance. With the service charges......... [shakehead][shakehead][shakehead]

The program is good but can be improved. To make it better, need to encourage the kids to spend the money they saved when necessary and on the right things. If not they will just save and save and become misers. Spenders are needed for economy to improve.

Neutral Newbie

This OCBC Mighty Saver really done a Great job for my 2 girls. They have been saving up the $$$ (they choose not to spend but to save). Then in return, they will have a 'surprise' for every $20 save.
