Kelpie 2nd Gear February 17, 2008 Share February 17, 2008 1. Contemplating to install the scangauge II http://www.scangauge.net/ in my car. I like the trip computer and some other information provided by this device. It is also slim and compact so doesn't take up too much space. 2. Anyone using such device or the equivalent? How does it compare with RSM since I do not use one? Thank you. Regards, ↡ Advertisement
Iziz Clutched February 17, 2008 Share February 17, 2008 Hi Kelpie, Just sold my ScanguageII abt a month back only, perhaps I can help with some of ur queries? I only used the FC monitoring function most of the time which is pretty informative, managed to lower my FC becoz heart pain everytime I see it shoot up when my foots suddenly becomes heavy As for the trip meter, not veri useful for me as I dun have the habit of pumping full tank everytime (eg. in a rush for time, just pump 30 dollars first), the Distance to Empty function does not know how to re-calculate... Hope the above info helps
Kelpie 2nd Gear February 17, 2008 Author Share February 17, 2008 1. Why did you sell the ScanguageII? No good? 2. Yap, thinking of using the Trip Computer and the FC function to monitor the fuel consumption pattern more acurately. My car only have Trip A and Trip B, Unlike Conti car, where they have a trip computer that tell you what is the FC per trip in concrete km/l. I hope to use this from SC2. 3. As I drive long distances something, so i thought I can also look at the vital statistics as well. Mind telling me how much and where did you get it from? Thank you. Iziz Clutched February 17, 2008 Share February 17, 2008 1. Intentionally wanted to sell my car. 2. It only reflects in L/100km, needs some getting used to. I must say it is a nice to have item, after a few days of toying ard with it, thought to myself "should be saved the money instead". If you r expecting something close to wad those cars, which come with this functions, u might be disappointed. 3. 200+, got it from a forummer known as Subarucat from other forums. I see, so it is only a "comestic" item? I thought it would be also useful to have one digital gauge then to have an array of round gaugaes that take up dashboard space. 2. How much did you sell yours? Someone wanted to sell me at $280. He bought it new at $400+. Regards,

S2077s 1st Gear March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 Does this scan gauge II device display Oil Temp, Oil Press, Air Temp, Water Temp etc? I need it to monitor some of these parameters as i push my car hard at times. Thot of getting the whole Defi setup but dun really fancy so many meters all over the dash board. Garlic 1st Gear March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 Used to have one and yes, its a very useful device. 1) It allows you to scan and clear error codes. 2) Comprehensive trip computer 3) Ability to pull off readings from your onboard sensors One thing though, do not leave it on the dashboard on a hot sunny day, the LCD display will darken. Garlic 1st Gear March 13, 2008 Share March 13, 2008 SGII plugs directly into your OBDII port, no cutting of wires is required for installation. It displays information from your onboard sensors.
