Missing hard disk space

Hi Bros,

My laptop is IBM X61.

At Windows Explorer, if I right-click "Properties" on C drive, the laptop will tell me that I have used up >126Gb of disk space. However, if I were to select all the folders and files in C drive and right-click "Properties", the total file size is <71Gb. So, there is a discrepancy of about 55Gb of disk space.

It can't be due to System Restore, since I have disabled it.

How do I recover the missing disk space?

Thanks

perhaps there are hidden files and all..

try to defragment your drive..

there could be a whole lotta junk..in terms of temporary internet files..

a whole bunch of unused files..

i personally use CCleaner (crap cleaner)..its useful.. a week of internet surfin and stuff..i got like 2+Gb of junk to be cleared.

Thanks.

I found out the cause. It's IBM's Rescue and Recovery. It did a weekly backup of my primary drive. I just delete it and regained my 55Gb.
