Dwoon 1st Gear February 11, 2008 Share February 11, 2008 If you're using performance brake pads, its like that.... until the pads warm up sufficiently, then the squeaks either go away or is greatly reduced. Another possibility is that your disks have worn down to leave a raised ring about its circumference. When you change to new pads, the sides of the pads might be rubbing onto the edge of this raised surface. For this case, the go back to the place where you got it installed, and ask for the pads to be ground away slightly... at its sides.....

I always thought the "squeaking" is caused by "bubbles" in the brake fluid? Usually was told to bleed or change brake fluid to alleviate the problem. Devin Neutral Newbie February 5, 2011 Share February 5, 2011 recently i just got a 2nd hand car, other than brake pad worn out, i hear other noise also. like a heavy growling noise like the bearings wore out lidat. but don think is the bearing as the sound comes very randomly and occurs during braking only. gonna change brakepad, but i wanna solve the growling noise also. i search online they say worn till metal touch metal already. can feel the vibrations on steering + pedal. usually sound comes when driven for a period = heat up. suspect rotor wrap + brake pad worn out. anyone got similar experiences? driving a toyota passo.
