Considering the revised diesel supplementary tax structure, effective from July 2008, it will be imperative that our local Skoda importer places due consideration on the import of TDI - Turbo Diesel Injection versions of Skoda vehicles. With the TDI, VAG has always been the forefront of diesel technology and has always been one of the benchmarks in the automotive industry.

The Roomster is available in 1.4l and 1.9l TDI versions. Having driven the 1.4l TDI Roomster in Europe before, I would say that it has a more enthusiastic drive characteristic compared to the 1.6l petrol version. The abundance of low-end torque provides for a punchy drive in our city driving conditions, without the expense of fuel consumption.

Hopefully with the launch of the Roomster in Singapore, a new chapter for Skoda in Singapore will be established. The necessary ingredients to make this a reality - passion and dedication.

There are many success stories of Skodas in other countries. The most recent being Australia, when the Skoda brand is re-introduced in 2007. Take a look at the following Skoda Australian homepage and be your own judge if Skoda Australia is indeed serious in making Skoda "a better choice of car".

Was appalled the other day when the gear shift connecting rods failed. Change the whole assembly which cost me about S$120 although only 1 rod S$7 failed. The point is, cars that I knew have ball joints with spanner like linked which required greasing and not plastic ones which is designed to fail.
