[sweatdrop] Life is already so stressful in Singapore and now they are even trying to push people to the limit to have less sleep and wake up earlier and earlier to avoid the ERP so parents will have less time with children at night if they want to sleep at 8.00pm. Is this a gracious society as they want it to be ?! And what about the crap of family bonding etc etc .... [thumbsdown]

No. They just want you to give up cars, thats all.

Who ask u to stay in Bishan AMK, Punggol, Hougang, Sengkang etc? [laugh] ? Actually dunno why the garment created so many estates which needs to use this expressway, contributing to congestion. Not v good town planning if u asked me.

It only shows that the LTA and URA/HDB is not "communicating".

LTA is trying to solve the big CTE headache, world class effeciency & standard. URA/HDB, not wanting to be outdone, erects estates along CTE also with world class speed [thumbsup]

Actually, if one were to analyse the total cost of car ownership, it is actually getting nearer to what a car used to cost 10 yrs ago (a corolla for 100+K!). SO i guess, soon, it will be back to that. Only the rich can afford to drive cars.

If the $$garment is going to have this mindset, then alot of ppl will be out of job especially those in sales, support or whoever needs a car for their job when they cannot support a car anymore. Then the unemployment rate will shoot up months after months ... do they want it to happen like this, I believe not.

and govt is telling us that they will monitor SG inflation.

kns....... [blush]

Increasing ERP so that you have less money to spend, brillant idea to curb inflation and profit from it too.

GIC and temasek pump money to UBS and Citigroup.

Singaporeans have to help too by pumping more into the coffers (ERP) for the anticipated losses ?

a few gantries increase $0.50 [mad]

Not surprising. 50 cents is not effective at all.

The increase for the CTE gantry at 7 am is very telling. More people are now up earlier and earlier. Maybe the ERP has to start at 6:30 am to deter even more people!

Do not underestimate Sporean man...they can wake up earlier than u thought just to save a few cents.

Its a gd time to do morning workout. And Spore will turn into a ghost town at night becos all will sleep at 9pm...no more primetime movie lol

Cars from AMK, Yishun, Woodlands, Sembawang, Sengkang, Hougang and Punggol uses CTE. The jam will only gets longer unless they increase 2 more lanes at both sides, open the KPE from TPE. Then might divert some traffic away from CTE. But only those staying in Punggol, Sengkang and Hougang will use KPE. The rest will still use CTE. There are always morning congesting at both TPE and CTE towards city. [furious]

gahmen has got to solve SG holistically lah.

Housing, transport, family. Transport solve the problem happily see if fertility drop lor. mayb divorce rates go up cos less quality time together. then again if couple start in jam good opportunity to hv heart to heart tok wo.

wife asks: " so nice you buy red panty for me. wait, this looks used and not mine. " [knife]

jus the LTA to push the problem ard. bus increase push to taxi, taxi increase push to car, car increase push back to bus and so the story goes dee da dee.
