Zanter 3rd Gear January 28, 2008 Share January 28, 2008 Life is already so stressful in Singapore and now they are even trying to push people to the limit to have less sleep and wake up earlier and earlier to avoid the ERP so parents will have less time with children at night if they want to sleep at 8.00pm. Is this a gracious society as they want it to be ?! And what about the crap of family bonding etc etc .... Who ask u to stay in Bishan AMK, Punggol, Hougang, Sengkang etc? ? Actually dunno why the garment created so many estates which needs to use this expressway, contributing to congestion. Not v good town planning if u asked me. Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear January 28, 2008 Author Share January 28, 2008 They are still pushing hard for Sengkang and Puggol, which will contribute even more to congestion in CTE.
Curahee 1st Gear January 28, 2008 Share January 28, 2008 a few gantries increase $0.50 No effect la end of the day. If they really wanna control, 5 dollars make more sense. I think its juz to pump more money into the treasury only.

Ckyc 1st Gear January 28, 2008 Share January 28, 2008 quite heng they never increase the ones i used... but its just a couple of months and they will revise again. i forsee in 20 years time, every carpark, school and shopping centre outside will have gantries and no body will drive, then some one will come out with idea that the country population is too congested, and all pedestrian will need to fix an IU on the forehead so that the gantries will be utilised... Iygnaug 1st Gear January 29, 2008 Share January 29, 2008 This is funny, an IU inside every singaporean. What about foreigners? PR? As far as i can see it, they make you go to work earlier so that you can contribute to the economy. When you reach work early, the company door still locked, so you will go 'lah kopi' somewhere, then the kopi uncle can earn a bit. When you go home late, you need to spend your time somewhere, not necessary in the office. It used to be having dinner outside, then ERP off, then go home. NOW, it will be having dinner, go shopping, movies, then ERP off, then go home. It's a conspiracy. they need people to fill up the shopping malls. _____________________________

Rickster 5th Gear January 29, 2008 Share January 29, 2008 a few gantries increase $0.50 Not surprising. 50 cents is not effective at all. The increase for the CTE gantry at 7 am is very telling. More people are now up earlier and earlier. Maybe the ERP has to start at 6:30 am to deter even more people! Yea, quite true. $0.50 x 5 x 4 = $10 (assuming 5 day-week for 4 weeks). Don't think $10/mth will have any effect people who can afford to drive cars much. ↡ Advertisement
