all i can say is you were really really lucky. you could be charged for illegal entry/immigrant upon exit malaysia.

or is it because they have your entry record in their computer therefore they dont take time to check your entry chop? but this is not something i wanna assume or bet.

for now, think it's not an issue bcos next time you go malaysia, they wont be so free to check your passport for all the previous entry records. but if you are concerned about this, replace a new passport will do.

I would call up the M'sia High Comm and then go back to M'sia and have it stamped. Be prepared to kenna some scolding. It can lead to something really serious if you don't rectify this. You can be charged for illegal entry.

My MLM kenna that once and did the above. Waste time, but worth it.

The new passports which have numerical coding are all scanned in most countries now. That's why many countries do not stamp the passports. Singapore's the same. However, I will not say it's the same situation for Malaysia.

Call embassy to enquire anonymously.

IF they say its automated now, then rest assured.

If they say its an offence as u didnt check, Go report lost for your passport and get a new one.

Sigh...

I kena before, the person who supposed to chop sleeping. my 1st time to JB with gf.

6am in the morning. Then gf asked which counter to go for them to chop, by the time we at coastal route already. I take plane only, never drive in to another country before, so how i know.

We stopped one Singaporean driver to ask and he said, quick go back to the counter and have it chopped to avoid legal problems. So kind of him.

Quickly u-turn, park at immigration car park and walk back to have it chop and screwed the bugger in malay for making my chest pain.

[sweatdrop]

Whether the passports are chopped with an immigration endorsement has nothing to do with the numerical coding. For sporeans, their passports are not chopped as their entry / exits are captured in the comp . . . but for all foreigners their passports must be chopped with the entry and exit endorsements . . . think same apply to the Malaysia side. If you go Malaysia high comm and they say is ok will not be a problem that u do not have an entry chop but have an exit chop, my advise is ask for for a letter to state so . . . if not when next time u go msia will have hard time to explain to the malaysia officer if they spotted this . . . i mean u no expect them to just believe ur words . . .

Think papers came out few days back that the msia side say no need the white card but all must ensure that the entry and exit chops are in the passport . . . . put it this way if there is no chop on ur passport, there is always the chance that ur entry might not have been captured in their system --> illegal entry . . .

Same case as me sometime last Sep. No entry chop and was advised by my Malaysian friend to just 'wave' the passport upon exit because custom will think you are Malaysian and just let you go. At the custom exit I almost wanted to try 'waving' but last minute changed my mind. I just presented my passport as usual to the custom.

There were 2 custom officers chatting away in the cubicle but somehow one of them managed to detect the missing entry chop. They spoke to me in Malay but I tried to explain to them in English. He chopped my passport for exit and returned it to me but then asked me to stop by the side of the custom and proceed to the custom office somewhere ahead. I was getting worried.

The traffic was quite heavy and got no chance to stop by the side and so I just followed other vehicles and proceed towards Singapore without turning back. After that incident it was also time to change to the new passport. No problem then.
