If you want good brakes from OEM manufacturer (they make for other brands) at a cheaper price, try JBT.

JBT is oem manufacturer??????

Heard that bbk is overkill unless you track.

Yap, BBK is usually meant for car that track. I think a moderate upgrade is no harm. If you put a 6 pots on a Vios that doesn't track then I say it is overkill. Even a Civic Type-R also doesn't have so many pots [laugh]. I probably will 1st change the rubber hose to steel braided hose and see how it fares..and to decide along the way.

IMO, you'll only need BBK if you go track.

dun waste your money.

fully agree with ya hoh hiah dee... to me, anything stock is more than sufficient for normal daily usage, unless the car is used for other purpose...

I will not make hasty decision but will see how it goes when I finally get to drive the incoming car. Based on my pleasant braking experience with the current car, I should know what I need. Anyway 1st thing 1st, will change to a set of UHP tyres. Thanks.

How about spritual driving along NSHW with a high frequency of hitting top speed?

Yep. Besides making their own JBT branded brakes.

They OEM for brands like GReddy - GREX brakes.

no offence bro. IMO, brakes are tried, tested and proven by manufacturers and offer adequate stopping power with regards to their primary use. the 2.0Si is a family sedan, i believe now you can understand what i'm trying to say. And its not as if you'll be abusing your brakes until brake fade along the whole stretch of NSHW also.

While generally true, but not always. KM with Honda specced Integra GSR brake lower than JDM Integra Type S for some unknown reasons with a smaller rotor. The feel and stopping are horrendous.

Anyone who has a GSR should seriously consider a brake upgrade.

If ya going to upgrade to a bbk, make sure your tires are equally good, since they are the only contacts you have on the ground.

You are right that for braking, tyres always come 1st than anything else.

every taiwan manufacturers will tell u they OEM for japan brands... The true fact is, they are not. The one reason they say they OEM for greddy is becos they copied from greddy.

They are some who said they OEM for endless. RUmours has it that there are certain taiwan manufacturer for TEIN as well. however they are all copycats from the brands they claimed they are OEM manufacturing from.. if not, u will not buy..

Check grex brakes carefully... they are made in japan with very good quality finishing. The taiwan brakes are a far cry from that

GREDDY, ENDLESS and TEIN are all made in japan....

by far, VTTR is one of the better brakes manufacturer from Taiwan. WP Pro is another brand that is proudly made in taiwan, but the price is very high.

If I were u I will not upgrade to BBK. 155 bhp, Honda already factored it into its OEm brakes liao. Only reason why I would put on BBK is....

Looks. ie , Show off [laugh] . Sometimes u can see people put on false caliper or paint the OEm caliper red.

If u mod the car n increased its power significantly such that the OEM brakes arent enuf to stop the car properly anymore.

Honda Civic 2L shld have disc brakes all round right? enuf I would say. Save yr $$$

back to threadstarter thread..

if u drive spiritedly normally, then u shld get a BBK.

you only need one close encounter for the BBK to go into action and save ur life then u noe its worth it...

its always good to have better brakes as it may save ur car from potential accident (due to spirited driving) n save ur life (also due to spirited driving).
