Are TFSI Engine Efficient ?

wondering if TFSI engines are more efficient than conventional engine of the same capacity. Any owners would like to share their experiences ?

I am not an owner of TFSI cars, but judging from vagsg.com, TFSI does gives better FC than most equivalent jap engines.

if you compare capacity with capacity, ie. 1.4TSI compared to 1.4L Jap car,... then no.

 

But if you compare power output with power output, ie 170bhp vs similar 170bhp car (which is probably > 2.0L capacity), then the 1.4TSI is more frugal.
