Where to park in Mersing?

Appreciate if advise can be given on where to park in Mersing, if one is taking the ferry from there to Tioman.

 

If the parking there secure and how much does it cost?

always see SG cars at those fenced up open air carparks around the jetty. there were rides more ex than urs too

 

no offence ah, just trying to reassure u of the safety. of course, no guarantee la, just stating what i saw

Hmmm.... I'm not familair with the area. Where is the fenced up carpark? Is it near the ferry jetty? I roughly remember there is a sort of building selling food (like hawker) and some stalls selling T-shirts & souveniers just outside the ferry point. The parking at this building area is not fenced up leh.....

there are open air carparks here and there. around the jetty area also have.

 

to be sure, u shd enquire at the hotel or some shops.. then go and recce the place to see if got fellow singaporeans

 

there is perimeter fence and a drop bar barrier, something like our shopping center parking except that it's open air. birdshit virtually guaranteed

 

going diving/ snorkelling or just chillout?

imho, for makes which aren't hot targets (believe subaru is not so desirable cos not so easy to dispose of) it's relatively safe.

 

i'll definitely park my getz there if i drive to mersing.

 

however, if i drive wish or harrier or camry or CRV, i may not feel safe parking there.

 

the carpark has security guards. not foolproof but definitely better than leaving it unattended. u may not be attending to it but someone else is supposed to be

Its quite safe to park at the open air carpark just beside the cafe outside the jetty.. i go up to tioman and dayang quite often and i have drove to mersing before.. no problems... just bird SHi*t.... but still try to park nearer to the lights and remove all expensive items from the car.

bro.. there is only 1 resort on dayang.. as in the operator runs all the resort on dayang... its okie.. pretty much like tioman setup...

 

As for tioman.. you need to know which village you wanna go? like salang or wat.. actually paya resort not too bad.. stil got a small rock fall to visit... you going for diving or relax?

Hi,

 

There are a few parking spaces available around the ferry terminal/jetty area. The closest would be the one just next to the jetty itself. Charges are like RM$7 per day. The parking area is fenced up and is quite secure (IMHO).

 

I drive up there on a regular basis for short breaks in Tioman.

its really good fun and a eye opener.. i stil rem the day i saw whale shark.. i was like.. shocked and lost for words... nothing on land tat you can see will match with wat u see in the water...
