I was quoted 800-900 to repaint the same colour and 2k to change colour. Is that a reasonable price? Any help or views appreciated, thanks!

The two tones I did for my starlet last year cost me 750

But the workmanship sucks.. Damaged lots of my parts after I receive my car back...

Melt many of my plastic parts..

800 to 900 hundred reasonable for a simple 2 tone but dun expect quality...

Mine was sent my some dealer who refuse to tell me who is the workshop that did my paintwork..

So "Cheap doesn't mean good." See what are you looking for...If 800 you know the workshop. Then I will say go for it can get them if things goes wrong...I dam* TL with the damages to my car that time..But forget it, my baby has just leave me this morning..

But love the car... But not from the dealer whom I dealt with..Not honest (keep asking me for kopi money and when promised me things never happen and even tell me to settle myself once he collect the money)and damnz stingy (And keep telling me to pump another 10 bucks of petrol for him after I sold e car back already with 1/4 tank left.I still remember when I bought from him a year ago he pass me an empty tank.)WTF...

Irony that the same dealer who sold me my ride bought the ride back..

hi guys,

jus a quick question i like to seek advice from;

is it advisable to go to the authorised car dealer's workshop for paint repair work for some minor paint scrapes on a new car? or is it worthwhile to go to a normal car workshop?

Go to a trusted car workshop.

My dad's car got hit from behind 2 days after collecting from Tan Chong motors. Damn suay right!!! Since fella behind say he at fault so claim insurance and went back to Tan Chong to get it done. 4 years later, when want to sell, some car dealer guy peels off the carpet in the boot and all the lousy weld marks and all are rusting. Needless to say, dealer wanted to cut price and...

Another story, same car. Went to friendly workshop to ask for quote to paint the car. He asked me whether painting to sell or painting for own use. Apparently, painting to sell, they will use cheaper chemicals which will glaze over in a couple of months time. Bottom line is, go to someone trustworthy.

If u want to save money but still want to change colour, tell the workshop you want to spray only the exterior only, which means your engine bay, doors etc etc will not be sprayed.

The price should be similar to spraying back the same colour.
