Verve 1st Gear January 8, 2008 Share January 8, 2008 old ram can be bought but their prices are very high. not worth it all at to spend. if the upgrade cost a few hundred might be better off changing computer, last sat saw acer laptop at only $888 at courts. Yeobh 4th Gear January 8, 2008 Author Share January 8, 2008 If below $100 for 2pcs I will go ahead as I don't want to waste too much time on a new set.Currently the problem is intermittent. I have another two units working as back -up and they are in good health.

I have another two units working as back -up and they are in good health.think the current price of DDR series is about $80-90/GB. in fact the newer technology DDR2 is selling at almost half that price. i am using the older DDR and wanted to upgrade also, but looking at the current price, still undecided if really want to buy that. Yeobh 4th Gear January 9, 2008 Author Share January 9, 2008 No sure. Anyway the problem is the ram memomry but the socket finger catch. The finger catchs are not holding the card firmly and overtime the card looses the 100% surface contact with the socket. To over come the problem,I glue the finger catchs to the card with nail polish. It works - so far no problem starting from 9.30 am today up to time of writing this message. Thanx to all for your directions and adv.
