Vroomtattat 2nd Gear January 3, 2008 Share January 3, 2008 Quote Thank you for your reply. But I hope those with no experience on the product to refrain from giving no-meaningful answer. I am actually looking for a giant wick to lit up my car after the waxing session. Could any real users step forward and contribute? Sorry arh. LOL. You're wicked I would like to hear some replies before I try this out. Thanks TS!

Fitzy Neutral Newbie January 3, 2008 Share January 3, 2008 (edited) Yes, collinite is proven to last quite long for our S'pore climate. Mine lasted for abt 3mths and went through 12 washes before I start all over again. Best thing about collinite is the ease of use and the durability, also value for $$. Falc 3rd Gear January 3, 2008 Share January 3, 2008 Those who like to wax monthly or even weekly may not like that kind of durability
President Neutral Newbie January 3, 2008 Share January 3, 2008 I had that black tub for my previous car before. The shine seems alrite to me but application was a bit difficult. I believe the black tub is for black and white for colour? I guess so. Using Duragloss for my current car. Easy to use and looks much better. No turning back. Fitzy Neutral Newbie January 3, 2008 Share January 3, 2008 Those are hardcore detailer . I think for collinite if you apply it weekly is over doing it(IMO), fortnightly is ok.
Best_ctzn Clutched January 3, 2008 Author Share January 3, 2008 Quote This is the collinite model that has all the raves in autopia.org for durability, protection and beading property. http://www.maddetailer.com/products/exteri...llinite845.html And here's an example on its beadings after a light shower ok, so this collinite is available from maddetailer too. Good, got another option. But I will use the soft99 water block wax a while to see how long it will last since already purchased and seems not bad. I supposed the picture is taken of ur car done with this wax right. May I know when was the last time you waxed with this thing? And how long this beading effect can last? Many TIA. Best_ctzn Clutched January 3, 2008 Author Share January 3, 2008 Water beading effect can last for many weeks with Duragloss? Sorry I only looking at water-proofing property. Shine is not that important. Just want to splash water to clean the car only.
Falc 3rd Gear January 3, 2008 Share January 3, 2008 (edited) Yap goto the maddetailer. It lasted for one month at least before i reapply according to my routine. Actually there's a difference between water beading and sheeting effect. Collinite has amazing beading effect. Can't recall its sheeting effect exactly as i seldom pay attention to that during washing. If ease of wash is what you are after then it may be the sheeting effect u r looking for. Ashocker Neutral Newbie January 5, 2008 Share January 5, 2008 Quote Applied the second time on the 23rd Dec. This time used a cleaner wax to clean the surface first and the cleaner wax immediately brings out the shine on application. Then I applied the Soft99 Water Block Wax followed by Soft99 FussoCoat. The shine is good this time but it rained almost immediately after my 4 hours of hard work. Hi Patcheon, think FussoCoat is a sealant, thus you have to apply it first before the wax. It will also help if you let it rest for a while (some say 12hrs required?) before applying the wax.
Patcheon Neutral Newbie January 5, 2008 Share January 5, 2008 Yup, I am suspecting that too. Will revise the sequence the next time, but with the kind of weather nowadays, really don't know when will be able to get a good stretch of sunshine days for proper culling of the wax. Best_ctzn Clutched January 11, 2008 Author Share January 11, 2008 This is to wrap up my thread since I am handing over my current ride to 2nd hand car dealer tmr and my 'testing' on this wax is coming to an end. The wax has been applied this wax for 10 days. I washed twice during this period and it went through some hot-sun treatment and also heavy rain / whole day drizzle during the period. I am happy to declare this wax has far exceeded all my expectations. Even now when I spray water on the car, especially from the roof, you will literally see water droplets 'standing' 3D on the surface. (Previously on Platinum, after 2 heavy rain the water droplets will become irregular shape on the car surface pointing to wearing out of effect.) You will be able to see the highest point on the car roof as there will be a radial pattern with many line coming down from that point as water droplets will just roll down when it get heavy! Of course, washing car and drying is super easy and I am happy because that was my target in the first place. Contrary to my previous thinking, the surface was not smooth or 'oily' for the water-beading effect to be observed. Maybe next time I will use claybar to smoothen the surface to get even better results. Overall, highly recommended. Easy to apply, easy to wipe off, lasting effect. ↡ Advertisement
