Kelpie 2nd Gear January 7, 2008 Share January 7, 2008 I convertered, confirmed 40% savings ..... Best mod ever I didn't convert and save more than 50% i.e. go JB to pump petrol . No one-time cost to pay for modification. Having said that, Bi-Fuel is the way to go. I probably will re-look at it again. Regards,

Nutty 4th Gear January 8, 2008 Share January 8, 2008 I just saw a car on the road with the green CNG sticker. Is it compulsory to stick it on? It looks darn ugly.
Subarufan Neutral Newbie January 8, 2008 Share January 8, 2008 Wow! 40%! That's a lot of saving, man!! Wonder are there "side effects" in a longer run? Like noisier, this and that! Can you share with us how much you had paid? And, what is your car make? Mine is a almost 2-year-old Subaru Legacy 2.0R. Worth converting? I think the warranty would be void, right? Thank you so much for sharing with us. Cheers,
Zanter 3rd Gear January 8, 2008 Share January 8, 2008 (edited) CNG converted cars r less powerful. Dunno maybe 10-15%? Downside is less space in boot. I dunno if there r issue with boxer engine conversion so u have to check with the installer. I dunno abt Legacy fuel consumption but from what i heard its ard 6-8km/l? If u travel often I think ur CNG tank wont last long..maybe 2 days? So u have to pump more often. If u stay near a CNG station or closer to the west side, I think its worth it? Genie47 1st Gear January 8, 2008 Share January 8, 2008 If the car kenna horrible accident, SCDF will come and give it extra special treatment. That is what the sticker is for.
Subarufan Neutral Newbie January 8, 2008 Share January 8, 2008 If my on-board computer is right, my FC is about 9 litre/km. My concern is still about the side-effects like you mentioned - lost of power, and what else? If computed, if it takes 3 years to recover the cost, by then my car would be into it's 5th year. Plus a few more years to enjoy the low fuel costs, then I might as well scrap it later and buy an original green car! Sound right? Or did I miss out something? Dirtrider_ak Neutral Newbie January 8, 2008 Share January 8, 2008 (edited) Long run .... you may rev more on gas to get the torque.... BHP is down ... but after a while u feel the difference. Took me a mth to feel that and adjust. I also have the same plan next car may be green from registration. Just nice.
