hi bobcatsysop.. sorry to hijack this thread as i am new and do not have enough postings to start a new post.

 

i have set up an alternative ICE forum at http://www.phpbbserver.com/sgcaraudio for fellow ICE enthusiasts and hobbyists.

 

i was a forum of user of sgsoundsystem, but due to recent policy changes, i found that the format of the forum has become too complicated due to too many sub forums. also, installer reviews were removed unless they paid to become a sponsor.

 

there are other issues which i shall not comment as well.

 

therefore i set up this new forum with the aim of cultivating the true spirit of free forum information sharing, without bias, backing or affiliation with any ICE installer.

 

do hope to see all of u there and start contributing information for both experienced members and newbies alike.

 

as the forum is free and setup by a volunteer like me, deepest apologies if i go without an easy-to-remember domain name as it costs money to register and maintain.

although a few members of this forum openly back and patronise the aircon and sofas of a certain red car audio shop on balestier road, and another member proudly adopts the name of a giant electronics megamart, this forum has no backing of any ice installer leh.

 

neither is it affiliated. the forum as a i know isn't biased, unless u post things related to sales / mass orders - then they have some rules u need to follow. it's got free forum information sharing.

 

i suppose the only problem is - it's just one subject forum, no subforums. but so far we've been doing ok without subdivisions.

This morning, the Admin started a poll in sgcaraudio to ask their forum users if they should have the installer review section to maintain the neutrality of the forum and to avoid unnecessary flaming.

 

Also another poll if they should continue to have free commercial advertising.

Interesting poll.

A suggestion by one of the bros is to arrange for the forumers to visit the different installers - audit their cars / products / sharing and thereafter do a review. You can say that this is like "field trip" and we could coincide the visit with the regular meetup session.

 

Btw don't flame me as I agree that this would require a lot of coordination effort and not too sure if the installers would want to entertain us.

 

As for commercial advertising, I'm for it as long as it stick to the guidelines stipulated by the forum.
